Many Yoricans were against the practice in the southern states to participate in incest, leading to a firmly anti-incest president by the name of President John of Yorica, though he did claim he would not do anything about it. Many states such as South Carolina, Missisippi, and Alabama opposed the presidency for its views, prompting them to establish the Confederate States of Yorica which seceded from Yorica. The war began as a stand-off between both parties while the CSY began seizing military bases in its territory, though once one of these resisted the pressure to surrender the fighting began as clashes began across the frozen border which soon escalated into largescale offensives on both sides.
As the ULSR launched an invasion to occupy the pacific northwest, California decided to align itself with the USY to fight the conservative CSY and invading ULSR. The CSY advanced westwards rapidly which California went to counter as it officially joined Yorica as its newest state. Unable to withstand the pressure of the much more populous and militarized USY, the CSY quickly collapsed as all of its soldiers either fled into Creepyland or were detained. After the south was defeaated, all rebelling states and California were fully admitted into the United States of Yorica.
