After the devastating 21st Yetian Civil War, all nationalist and intelligentsia -dominated factions were made essentially irrelevant, however Yetia still failed to actually restabilize itself as the Yetian Parliament (The sole functional governing body remaining) failed to mend the differences among the royal houses, whom all began to squabble over who would succeed the late Henry Robertson due to the unpopularity of being ruled by Patrky Robertson of Sizzle. Katie Robertson, the queen-consort of Sizzle, attempted to help the situation by promising to give birth in order to give Yetia a ruler, but this was unsuccessful. Prince Liam II of Luxuria asked to involve himself, but was refused. As the tensions continued, Yetia finally properly fractured as each region of the country swore loyalty to local aristocrats as the House of Yetevia-Anssen, House of Kalder, House of Iolava, House of Kaul, House of Vanoral, House of Meng, House of Cossar, House of Zarros, and House of Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff all prepared militias to fight over the Yetian throne, giving the Sixth Republic of North Italy and Third Republic of Alinya a chance to launch insurrections vying for independence.
Fighting first broke out between Cossar and Kaul, which concluded in a victory for Kaul as it seized much of the lands held by Cossar. Despite previously being rejected intervention, Prince Liam II of Luxuria involved himself and began supporting Wolfesch, only for them to be defeated by Alinya which made him switch to Zarros' side. Wolfesch promptly attacked Zarros, leading to Hades George joining Wolfesch as the war also became about Luxurian sibling rivalry, especially once Wolfesch won the engagement. Vanoral and Meng next began to clash, concluding in a victory for Meng. The Luxurian government itself began supporting the House of Iolava since it promised to return the princes in return for funding. Iolava was the next to make a move, pushing into Kaul's territories, prompting Cossar to join in, leading to Kaul being partitioned. Iolava next attempted to attack into Zarros, which failed. Hades shot up the place where Liam was staying in Zarros, sparking another conflict between Zarros and Wolfesch which ended in another Wolfesch victory. Iolava and Yetevia-Anssen briefly agreed to cooperate against Kalder, but were distracted as Iolava was notified of how much money it would get (5 Trillion L$) for delivering Liam II back home, prompting it to launch a second invasion of Zarros' territories, leading to Liam being captured and sent back to Luxuria. Iolava next took down Cossar, and then moved on Wolfesch as it refused to hand over Hades, which led to a Wolfesch victory. Iolava promptly formed a truce with Alinya as they together attacked Wolfesch, crushing them as Hades unsuccessfully tried to petition for Chorosian aid, leading to Hades being sent back to Luxuria. Conflict then broke out between Iolava, Yetevia-Anssen, and North Italy, which ended inconclusvely as Yetevia-Anssen, Iolava, and Alinya carved up the remaining factions, which was followed by Alinya being absorbed by Iolava as the final engagement between Iolava and Yetevia-Anssen began, which after a long battle ended in a victory for Iolava.
After a long and hard fought battle, the House of Iolava under Hacen Iolava successfully reunified Yetia, revealing that most countries had been betting on who would win. A few months after thecivil war, Hacen Iolava announced the formation of the Fifth Commonwealth of Yetia as a democratic republican government.
