In England's most recent parliamentary elections, the otherwise small ultranationalist 'Isles Unity Party' managed to gain a majority of the vote, putting them into power. This worried Ireland, who instructed the English protectorate of Wales to look out for English army positions, discovering a significant number in the north by Scotland's border, suggesting that England planned to invade. Concerned by this, Wales asked to withdraw its 'protectorate' status, which England refused, prompting Ireland to instruct Wales to prepare to kick them out. England instructed Wales to send its army up to Newcastle for 'exercises', which Wales refused, so the English army occupied parts of wales. Alfred II of England was against this and tried to stop them by organizing the Royal Guard to depose them, leading to the king's son Charles of England publicly declaring he was willing to be the new king to gain favour from the IUP, leading to a civil war as a vast majority of England was under the IUP's control.
The Royal Guard moved to suspend parliament, but was prevented as the English government under the IUP quickly moved to seize the royal-held regions, forcing Alfred II to flee to Ireland as the Royal Guard was crushed, leading to Charles being crowned as the next king of England, and soon also the puppet 'Kingdom of Wales'. Ireland promptly evacuated much of Wales' population as it was overrun by the English army. England began preparing to defeat Ireland by first invading the Isle of Mann and establishing the 'Second Kingdom of Ireland' also run by the IUP on the island. England then began preparing an invasion of Ireland itself, though this was quickly thwarted by Ireland's own navy, prompting England to invade Scotland instead. Ireland quickly rushed over to come help Scotland, though after a while the entirety of Scotland's mainland fell to English forces. Despite this, England saw that they most likely couldn't win the entire war and offered a peace treaty where it would gain control over Great Britain while allowing Ireland to remain independent, which it accepted as the Welsh exiles were settled near Limerick. As the war ended, England's two puppet regimes 'wished to' unify with England, who of course accepted. A similar puppet regime was soon formed in Scotland, who offered a similar unification treaty, allowing England to proclaim the 'Kingdom of Britannia' under Prime Minister Thomas Simons.
