Goldaria proposed a joint military operation involving Eteria where the two would reclaim the territories Goldaria lost during the Fourth East African War so it may regain its restricted international trade (which had even caused a famine) and piece its country back together, which Eteria accepted due to the two's close alliance. Somalia caused this sudden invasion stupid as they believed it would never work out, though this was soon turned against them as Somalia's and Afaria's allies of Khat and Wanaoishi refused to help due to Wanaoishi's anti-war sentiments and sympathy for Goldaria's famine. Afaria was the first to be overwhelmed by the enemy forces as it capitulated, with Somalia soon following suit as the final Somalian forces on Socotra were wiped out.
