Swagonia officially annexed the entirety of Altilai west of the Jun River, angering the United Floppa Republic as it saw this as a violation of its territorial integrity to the point of declaring war, soon being joined by Bingustan as it wished to gain control of the regions inhabited by the Orientalis Bingus Tribe. UFR's Tank Brigades rushed to capture the Intraciudad 92 Highway as planes from both sides flew above and Bingustan crossed the Yanz River. UFR relied on capturing region where defences were still being prepared, which quickly proved to be backfiring as Swagonia began occupying river islands. The UFR reacted to the Swagonian counterattacks with panic, crossing the Jun River with an improvised bridge at the cost of leaving many regions they had gained undefended as they desperately rushed to Ciudad Gris. Swagonia took full advantage of this blunder, cutting off the UFR's supply lines. To the west, Swagonia accepted an offer of assistance by Bongus Bingus, brother of Bingustan's president Vladimir Bingus in return for them not losing any land, prompting the 'Soviet Republic of Bongustan' to rise up in rebellion against the government of Bingustan. It appeared that Swagonian victory was inevitable, prompting the governments of Bingustan and the UFR to flee into the Theian Outback to avoid capture, allowing Bongustan to seize control over former Bingustan and for the former territory of the UFR to fall into anarchy.
