After the rise of the Kalevian Proletarian State into power at the end of World War 19, they began instating reforms which implemented communism and equal rights for all ethnicites including Luvakhians, which proved to be unpopular enough for the Second Kalevian White Guard to rise up. Luvakhia took advantage of this civil war to try to reconquer its western territories, invading across the Northern Drina. As the Proletarian State fell, the White Guard demanded that Luvakhia back off which failed as Luvakhia claimed it was rightfully their territory, prompting the White Guard to attack. Luvakhia was successfully kicked out of Kalevala, allowing Kalevala to choose a leader from a wide selection of democrats, monarchists, and nationalists, until they eventually decided to appoint the conspiratorial Esko Laine of the Kalevian-Ugric People's Party, who believed that Kalevians were descended from ancient Khatians, giving rise to the Pharaonate of Kalevala.
