California was suddenly ushered into a crisis as stocks plummeted and a mercenary army marched on San Francisco. California quickly tried to evacuate all scientists and all of its data to Asophania as the unknown polity attacking it proved to be unstoppable, though many of the assets were shot down before they could make it out, with only a few people making it out thru Tiujuana without being gunned down by the mercenaries. As Asophania scrambled to gather and decode all of the files, the new government in 'California' invaded Cascadia, who begged for assistance yet none would come before the entirety of Cascadia fell to Omnistat rule. In the subsequent decoding efforts, Denasola uncovered that California had been trying to create a Superportal seemingly designed to intercept a Neutron Star.
