Birth of the World Defence Initiative

Yorica elected the Second President John as its new leader, leading the country down a much more interventionist path where it wished to protect democracy as it believed that 'the western world' had allowed forces of evil to fester, calling these evils an 'Axis of Evil'. This 'Axis of Evil' was said to consist of the Aundzer Alliance, Beijing Pact, Niedereich, all communist governments, Hongerswak, Sarpistan, Humambo, Eteria, Goldaria, and others. In order to combat these evils, Yorica announced the beginning of the "World Defence Initiative" as an alliance standing against tyranny. Itachia, Lizarb (under the influence of the Amazonas Cartel), Sipedro, England, Yetevia, and Islandia all joined the WDI.
