Opposing the military occupation the nation had been placed under following World War 3, a organization calling itself the Poavakian Independence Army gathered a significant number of surviving former soldiers to launch an uprising against the Islandian and Sizzlean occupation of the country, promptly proclaiming the restoration of the Republic of Poavak after seizing control over Banten and parts of Central and Western Java, launching attacks on the Islandian and Sizzlean armies. After some initial success, the Allied forces launched a major counteroffenesive to put down the revolt, achieving some success in Central Java by encircling a large PIA army while the PIA forces which avoided the encirclement moved to link up with the forces towards the west. Islandia attempted to break the rebellious spirit among the populace by establishing its own State of Eastern Poavak as a puppet regime opposing the PIA, which was somewhat successful for a time until the PIA launched a major counteroffensive that led to the SEP being invaded by Islandian forces.
Sizzle largely was incapable of supporting Islandia's war effort due to its casualties in the recent conflicts, forcing Islandia to turn to Spisos for aid as Sizzle withdrew its forces from Islandia. Upset by Sizzle's refusal to assist against the PIA, the Islandian military begin turning to highly oppressive measures, which even escalated to the point of genocide once the PIA exposed them for their actions, causing Abard and Sizzle to largely turn against them as they publicly condemned Islandia's continued hold over Islandia. The Poavakian populace was finally swayed to the PIA's side due to these actions, as a full scale revolt among the public occurred which led to Islandia being outnumbered, bombing everything in the country to the ground as they were forced to withdraw from the newly sovereign Poavak.
