Angered by Itachia's stagnation and previous territorial losses decades prior, the people of Itachia had attempted to overthrow the unpopular Itachian Communist Party multiple times by this point. As was tradition, a next attempt was organized once the right-leaning opposition flocked to the 'Itachian National Surrealist Party' as the INSP's paramilitaries stormed Lima and executed the government, swiftly spreading out of the city. Attempting to prevent this new force from spreading, Titicaca and Cocala intervened by occupying the Acre-Amazon Province to at least secure a region of Itachia from the L'Avenirists. All remaining government forces either fell into disarray or fled into occupied Acre-Amazon, which was partitioned between Titicaca and Cocala.
