Finally, the United States of Europa held referendums regarding what regions should be granted independence from the union, with only Italy and Choros being successfully released. Seeing the results as unfair, countless local ethnic revolts seceded as the Republic of Lustania, Fourth Republic of Hispania, Republic Kingdom Democratic Socialist Republic State of Notia, Republic of Euskadi, Republic of Catalunya, Second Republic of Veneto, Republic of Magyaria, Second Republic of Bohemia, Republic of Nitra, Second Federal Republic of Najova, and Fourth People's Republic of Ezon revolted against Europan rule. The Europan government decided this wasn't worth a fight and was willing to let them go free, leading to anger as many Yetian nationalists saw this as another destruction of Yetian unity, prompting Europa to give the 'Seventh Republic of Yetia' independence while still holding onto Yetia City, angering the nationalists enough that the Yetian Military Junta rose up in rebellion against the government, seizing the occupied British Isles along with them as they struck out in all directions. Europa was crushed between the Republic and Junta as extensive fighting broke out throughout the country, with the Republic managing to seize the alps as the Junta was fighting against both the Republic and the Iberians.
The Junta managed to convince several leaders in the Hispanian military to defect in return for greater representation for Hispano-Yetians, allowing the Junta to break the Iberian Front and swiftly seize control over Nuelo. The war was still largely a stalemate with a couple Republican advances while the Junta invaded Lusitania. In order to break past the Republican lines, the Junta launched an invasion of several Separatist states to outflank their enemy. Using their improved position, the Junta moved to cut off Republican forces in Yetia City with a pincer manoeuvre, which concluded in a success that allowed the Junta to overwhelm the Republic to the point of capitulation. Victorious, General Felipe Jopez assumed power and proclaimed the 'Fourth Yetian State', declaring war on the separatist states so they may be integrated into the 'Yetian Sphere' as protectorates. Despite Italy's best attempts to fight back, Yetia's invasion was successful as they annexed a majority of the separatists and established protectorates in Choros, Italy, England, Wales, Ireland, and Scotland which were all joined into the 'Nuelo Pact'.
