Princess Luna of the North Alicorn Kingdom grew upset over her opinion that the people of the Kingdom didn't appreciate the night she was in charge of enough. This lead to an argument between her and her sister Celestia, who attempted to calm her from her anger, although this failed as she kept insisting that no one appreciated the night. Celestia suggested a referendum to gauge public opinion regarding how daytime should be run, which the now obviously 'changed' Luna disregarded as she states that she didn't care, leading to the argument greatly intensifying as Celestia brought up how 'different' Luna was, asking if she had upset her and how she should calm down, prompting her to completely freak out and declare war on the South Alicorn Kingdom.
Luna's armies pushed south across the Cook Strait, while Celestia organized shelters. The North was soon proven to be quite strategically flawed as they had left little to nothing to defend their core territories while they went to the south, allowing the south to quickly sweep north and occupy the region, soon also retaking much of its lost lands until Luna was seemingly forced to negotiate, confessing that she felt that how the people of the South and Celestia herself were always unhappier it felt like she was undervalued. Luna panicked regarding how much damage she had already done until eventually being calmed enough to stop the war and return the Alicorn Kingdom to the way it was.
In the ensuing meeting between the two, Luna cried out over her actions and the deaths the conflict had caused, leading to Celestia consoling and forgiving her as well as holding the referendum regarding daytimes. The most notable consequence of this conflict however was the Alicorn Kingdom beginning to open up to diplomacy in a very limited manner, successfully opening up to Celtic, Taiwan, Poland, and, Argentina and unsuccessfully opening up to Asgorth. New Luxurian Spisos also attempted to establish contact, though it was disregarded.
