As Nakmai was distracted with the Yangoonese War of Independence, Luxuria suddenly declared war on Nakmai and invaded Hanoi, prompting Poavak to declare war on Luxuria to fight back the invaders once more. Nilastan extended its occupation of Yangoon until this war was over, hoping to use it as a refuge for the Nakmaians if they lost. Poavak expected the Luxurians to invade them first for their warplans, which they weren't doing, leading to Poavak sending some of its army to fight the Luxurians invading Nakmai instead, only for Luxuria to now start attacking Poavak in Borneo. The Luxurians at Hanoi were eventually cut off from the sea, leading to them fleeing southwards. Poavak launched naval invasions on Borneo and eastern Java. The Javan invasion saw success, but Luxuria managed to hold onto more of Borneo as it attacked into Phnom Penh and captured the city, allowing them to advance deeper into Borneo as well. Luxuria continued advancing into Nakmai and Borneo while now also landing in Java. Poavak revealed that it did have a plan to lure in the enemy and crush them from behind, but it had failed as Poavak's attacks were easily countered by the Luxurians. Poavak and Nakmai tried offering a conditional peace where they may survive in Malaya and Sumatra, which Luxuria refused, prompting Nakmai and Poavak to begin evacuations into Yangoon (which was expanded to accommodate more people, ending the Wan Republic in said process). Nakmai was the first to capitulate, leading to Poavak deciding to send half of its people while training the others to resist the enemy behind the frontlines, dispersing its army into the public as Luxuria invaded the island.
