The concept of a "coaxial" space is better explained with a 3-fold, a sphere that spins on an axis (like a planet) is a good example. Say that the sphere in any given orientation represents a unique 3-fold space - spinning the sphere on this axis is akin to rotating it in the fourth dimension to a different orientation, or rather a different reality - this defines the coaxial principle. Given a perfect sphere, the space taken by the 3-fold would not change given any change in orientation, demonstrating the principle of coexistence. These principles work with any n-fold space below and including 5-fold space. This means that realspace, Voidspace, the Noosphere, and other such layers are to each other as the [[Timeline-002|"POV dimension"]] is to the [[Realm of the Forgotten]], perfectly overlapping and rotating on the same axis. The coexistence principle begins to break down below 3-folds as the logic ''may'' not apply - some scientists use the term 'quasi-coterminous' to describe the nature of similar 2-folds within 3-folds. | The concept of a "coaxial" space is better explained with a 3-fold, a sphere that spins on an axis (like a planet) is a good example. DISCLAIMER
A majority of the information on this page is from an out-of-universe perspective, as no group or individual in-universe would have a complete thorough understanding of the Cosmology of YATA. This page exists to serve as a way to standardize references to universal events so that lore is consistent and doesn't contradict itself. In-Universe, groups with 'ideas' on how the world came to be are generally depicted to have an incomplete or flawed view of YATA's cosmology, often sharing similar yet conflicting or differing beliefs that would suggest that the ideas came from a common origin, and despite the existence of this page said in-universe method of referring to it will likely stay in place. This page also refers to content beyond the structure of the YATA universe such as Deities and how various other lore subjects function, which are also from an out-of-universe perspective as most individuals in-universe would be unaware of the specifics of how said things function beyond a more rudimentary or flawed understanding. The Omniverse
Birth
How the omniverse and reality came to be is intentionally left unclear and blurry so that each faction and individual within YATA (As well as even the authors) can ideally have their own internal 'idea' or 'headcanon' on how the world and life came to be, but in the best interest of the community so that over-arching contradictory lore doesn't take place, the following is a summary of a 'likely' creation myth which lead to the birth of the Omniverse.
Most major religious and scientific groups tend to agree that prior to the creation of existence, there was nothing that existed. The most defined version of this 'non-existence' is a 'chaotic nothingness' known by many names such as the 'Primordial Void' or 'Pasna-Svet' where 'matter and consciousness' would spontaneously be created and annihilated at random. It is generally accepted that one day, someone, something, or even a natural process from either within or beyond this nothingness created the Omniverse as a enclosed infinity that kept out the nothingness. Some groups believe that prior to the current Omniverse, there existed another preceding Omniverse (though other Omniverses are thought to exist regardless, but this isn't important or provable)
The early Omniverse is generally regarded to have been more active than its current iteration, with many groups claiming various less grounded phenomena such as Deities were more common at this time before it had wholly settled. Beings from beyond the Omniverse would occasionally enter it at this time as well, with the Primordial Void occasionally leaking entities into the universe. As the Omniverse matured and expanded closer to its current scope, many more erratic elements gradually settled and took shape, giving rise to the current universe as it is seen nowadays. Life would begin evolving throughout the Omniverse, though exactly how remains unclear was while there is significant evidence for the natural evolution of life, certain groups and individuals associate entities such as the Xel'Naga or We'virs (Whether they are separate or representations of the same 'entities' isn't specified) as 'jumpstarting' the possibility of life via some-kind of 'seeding', either being a 'one-time thing' or 'a cycle' (Garvian Origin). The most common interpretation of the origin of life in the YATA universe is that it naturally occurred in many places as life is quite common and still varies greatly despite certain species being related or sharing visual similarities (Hakcedian Origin).
Structure and Time
Reality, or the omniverse, is a 5-fold space. This means it possesses five spatial dimensions in which an uncountable amount of 4-fold dimensions known as multiverses - such as Baseline Reality, the Backrooms, the Oneirosphere, and the Afterlife - are both coexistent and coaxial, the notions of which are explained below. This means that the 4-spaces overlap, and one can theoretically "rotate" within the 5-space to attune to a different 4-space. Within these are an uncountable amount of 3-fold spaces which are, likewise, coexistent and coaxial. These 3-fold spaces are the "realities" that beings such as humans exist within, and perceive in a 2-dimensional manner. This 3-fold space is the primary 'POV Dimension' that YATA takes place in - 'Timeline-002', or Dimension:Div:79.RedLeader.0/3. This contains Yata, Theia, the Alpha Sol System, the Milky Way Galaxy, and everything else in the "universe" within its bounds.
This means that realspace, Voidspace, the Noosphere, and other such layers are to each other as the "POV dimension" is to the Realm of the Forgotten, perfectly overlapping and rotating on the same axis. The coexistence principle begins to break down below 3-folds as the logic may not apply - some scientists use the term 'quasi-coterminous' to describe the nature of similar 2-folds within 3-folds. Thus, the coexistence principle can be described as an observed effect rather than representative of the fundamental nature of dimensions. Merely, it provides the foundation upon which the coaxial principle can function.
For the same reason as mentioned prior, the omniverse is the highest order of space, i.e there is no 6-fold "hyperverse". However, other omniverses do exist, but they are neither coaxial or coexistent - instead, they move in separate time dimensions. Time is thought to be two-dimensional, and that an uncountable amount of omniverses move forward through "1-time", or "normal time". This 2-fold is called the "time manifold." The nature of "2-time" lies in how binary choices encountered as an omniverse moves through 1-time play out. Every planck time (roughly 5.39 × 10⁻⁴⁴ seconds), an omniverse is created/diverges, the uncountable macrocosm of which may either be incredibly similar to each other or incredibly different from each other. Being innately binary, the act of 'splitting' takes two routes, with 'standard deviation' being the usual process of a timeline diverging, and thus is the principal mechanism that underpins how omniverses move through 2-time. 'Advanced deviation', on the other hand, refers to the erronous creation of an entirely new timeline unrelated to a previous divergence, resulting from anomalies in how an omniverse moves through 2-time.
Essentially, everything that exists is contained within one 7-fold spacetime continuum.
What is interesting about the time manifold is that it is relativistic, in other words, the perception of how an omniverse moves through 2-time hinges upon the observer's reference frame. Theoretically, if an observer could "see" the movement through 2-time, they would see other omniverses drift away at various speeds whereas their own would remain "frozen" in 2-time. Similarly to the balloon analogy of how the universe expands, this creates the illusion that one exists at the centre of the 7-dimensional manifold of spacetime. In fact, all omniverses should move through 2-fold time isotropically, or in other words, all omniverses diverge equally, even given the anisotropic changes emerging from timeline deviation. This essentially creates a paradox which underpins the unstable and often catastrophic nature of advanced deviation through the time manifold - see Castrovalence. Advanced deviation can therefore be thought of as a violation of the cosmological principle.
'Locational Dimensions' are created via 'advanced deviation' and do not undergo splitting, often instead taking a less 'universe-like' form as more abstract forms of reality. All of these dimensions are together formed into countless 'Multiverses' defined by a common origin-point that diverge from a unknown and unreachable 'original universe', with each of these Multiverses together being defined as the 'Omniverse'.
Center
While the Omniverse is infinitely complex, it is in some form a finite space that contains infinity within it. As another violation of the cosmological principle, the Omniverse has a unknown 'centre dimension' from which all divergences can trace their 'lineage' back to as they spread outwards akin to a fractal, with said center holding them all together as some-kind-of 'anchor' or 'centre of mass'.
Reality and Anomalies
Each dimension tends to bind to common universal laws of physics which may typically only be bypassed via extremely specific circumstances/methods or by actively circumventing them with loopholes (such as how in order to cross the speed of light, a ship must either travel thru a parallel medium without said limitation in the case of Voidspace/Psionic Subspace or isolate itself from said limitations in order to avoid encountering them in the case of Isolation Warp or Wormholes.
The integrity of these laws is defined by a measurement known as 'Reality Stability' which is then divided into 'Local Reality Stability' (LRS) which defines the local integrity of reality, 'Average Reality Stability' (ARS) which defines the average dimension-wide integrity of reality, and 'Personal Reality Stability' (PRS) which measures the integrity of reality around an individual. A world where the ARS is set at the base value of '100' will share very similar laws to the 'real' universe, while in a world with higher number may feel overwhelmingly real as opposed to a low-rated world feeling malleable and weak. Reality itself (or more specifically the fabric of space time) is a semi-tangible 'medium' or 'concept' which can be measured, felt, and warped. In the case of a individual with a higher LRS/PRS entering a space with a lower LRS/ARS, they are capable of 'warping' reality beyond its standard limitations, appearing as 'strange' or 'anomalous' in the common perspective. In the case of an individual with a lower LRS/PRS entering a space with a higher LRS/ARS, the opposite is true as 'reality' warps and exerts itself over them instead.
Individuals or objects with differing LRS/PRS can rarely persist with their effects for prolonged or even indefinite periods of time in areas of 'baseline levels' such as standard reality, granting them abilities which are defined as 'Anomalies' which break the laws of physics/reality, though Anomalies may in even rarer cases be inadvertedly created out of nothing due to LRS fluctuations. 'Anomalies' (be it objects or even living beings) are specifically defined as anything which cannot be built on a pre-existing framework of knowledge that justifies their existence and capabilities no matter how hard one tries, making them often non-replicable incredibly rare occurrences which may be found in areas with slightly differing LRS levels from the ARS, such as parts of the Alpha Sol System (especially Yata) and other 'spatial anomalies'. Notable examples of 'anomalies' include the various entities contained by the SDS Foundation and United Occult Initiative. Entire locations may also exhibit 'anomalous' traits if they have a noticeably different LRS than the surrounding area's ARS, allowing for certain regions to exhibit strange properties that would not be possible else where. Such locations tend to be very lowly populated, though there are still many which serve as major points of habitation. Notable examples of such locations include Luvamatrilia with its concentration of 'Ghosts', Adytium with its population of magic-wielders, and the various 'gateways' where reality is weak enough to allow someone to pass into other dimensions. Certain anomalies invoolve area or even planet-wide fluctuations in LRS levels, causing strange events such as those which occurred during the Daybreak or Total Annihilation.

Beyond the Omniverse
If one was to navigate through briefly-existent openings created deliberately or via fluctuations (though these will quite quickly collapse and close) or via a alleged 'tear' in the Omniverse's fabric known as the Phryvik, they would find themselves situated in a truly infinite 'nothingness' known by many names such as the 'Primordial Void', 'Pasna-Svet', or various other names. The Primordial Void is a chaotic non-existence without any coherency or order as the only location that arguably possesses a negative ARS rating, leading to matter and entities of unimaginable scale continually appearing and imploding in an instant as a part of a looping process caused by its instability, with the Omniverse(s) acting as 'islands' of stability. Despite its clear uninhabitable nature, the continuous process of creation and destruction that occurs there has occasionally allowed 'beings'[1] of some sort to emerge there, though due to their nature and origin they are incredibly unstable and tend to destructively rip apart reality around them if they end up in an Omniverse as they try to stabilize themselves.

The Mind
Organic Life, while still in some eyes being arguably being 'computers' in their own way, is granted a consciousness uniquely separate yet still connected to their physical form as a kind of 'soul' composed of a medium referred to as 'Memoria', granting each individual a connection to the Noosphere. the noosphere is like global consciousness but mildly less stupid im writing this bit later
While connection to the Noosphere requires one to be an organic being naturally connected to its network to access it, mechanical or otherwise artificial entities lacking the necessary Memoria to connect to it are capable of utilising it via biotechnological devices, as artificial 'brains' are often quite capable of connecting to the Noosphere as a proxy for them to utilise. This has allowed entities such as HAWK to utilise some-form of psionics, and has given the Ascendancy of the Nornir's worshipped supercomputer its precognitive abilities.

The Divine
The "power" generated by the minds of organic beings is not solely limited to fields such as the Noosphere, as the very act of belief that something exists or has existed is capable of altering reality if intense enough. If a large enough group of people are devoted and worship the idea of a deity enough, their collective will can eventually give life to their idol of worship by fuelling its existence with the Divine Energy generated by their worship. Divine Energy is a 'field' or 'radiation' generated by belief and worship, acting as a lifeline keeping each deity alive. If a group believes a deity is capable of something, then it is within the space their Divine Energy occupies, as such a planet-wide religion would be able to generate a deity capable of exerting itself across an entire planet while a local cult's deity would only be able to exert itself onto them. Thus in a way, every religion is at least partially 'correct' about their beliefs, even if they often are warped or inaccurate towards the truth in some other regards. If worship of a deity ceases, the deity will cease to exist as well (though they sometimes may be killed without the end of worship), leaving behind remains holding the lingering power and influence once attributed to them. Deities can me imagined as thoughtforms of the Noosphere given physical form, using the will of their worshippers to maintain this form.
Demigods
Most deities fall under the above category of 'true deities', being arguably the most powerful form of the divine. Despite this, many other entities known as 'Demigods' may possess powers which resemble those of the true divine without the need of Divine Energy to maintain them. Entities originating from the Primordial Void (Generally known as 'Daemocosm') and entities from non-standard layers of reality such as Voidspace may possess such powers.
Notable Religious Systems
The Crimson Faith is a good example of a religion that venerates a wholly mortal individual to the level of a deity, with their collective belief elevating the human 'Jaanyn-utaryše' to the level of a deity after the death of his mortal body (as mortal bodies cannot ascend in this manner). As deities are thoughtforms of the Noosphere given form and Memoria is the connection between the physical and the Noosphere, a deceased individual's memoria may skip the Afterlife by being elevated to the level of a deity. Despite these feats, the religion's competitive and hierarchical structure (especially among Neo-Crimsonists) limits its potential as Jaanyn is seen by many as someone to be overcome and usurped. They are also notable for their usage of Magic as a core tenet of their religion, warping and melding 'flesh' as the primary act of worship via careful and precise manipulations of LRS achieved by being taught how to tap into Orgone from a young age. Another entity found in their belief system is Jymytošty, a malevolent entity that is feared and hated by their worshippers, still being fuelled by Divine Energy generated via fear rather than admiration. Their practices and the presence of Jymytošty in their religious system has earned them a position as a sworn enemy of the Mechanical Faith, a more organized and traditional religion which believes hat an entity akin to Jymytošty was trapped by their own deity, who is depicted as a dispersed or otherwise inert mechanical being who is destined to bring forth a technological utopia once re-assembled, contrasting the Crimsonists' physical 'flesh-based' ideals.
The Children of Apollyon is another example of a deity sustained by fear, though via much different methods than can be seen in the Crimson faith as 'Apollyon' as an entity appears to exist in a self-perpetuating loop where worship causes its followers to become indoctrinated into its aggressive hierarchical worldview, leading to further worship which only furthers the indoctrination.
The religious system that's generally accepted to be the most widespread within the Omniverse is the Hyacinthan Faith, giving its principle universal-protector deities known as the 'Seraphocosm' significant power from countless civilizations and cultures across the cosmos, although their own religious system's reliance on Aimacos (blood) rituals to sustain their deities makes them still limited as most of their pantheon is believed to be deceased despite some benefits from their syncretism. Another notable effect of their faith is the existence of the logographic 'Intergalactic Hyacinthan Language', a liturgical language that is believed to be universal and unchanging by Hyacinthanists, making it be among the most viable 'universal languages' thanks to how widespread the religion is. As a result of their multi-species congregations and being spread out across the entirety of space, their practices are additionally among the most diverse and most 'non-human-like' of any named major religion.
