Alsavaeid, officially known as Alsavaeid City, is the largest city and capital of Alsavaeid and the capital of the entire Plurinational Union of Theia (which Alsavaeid is a member-republic of) with a population of around 15.3 million people. It was founded in 254 by Yatan colonists on the northern tip of Sousania east of the Gulf of Osnoa, and southeast of the island of Al'yasamin. The city had disproportionate influence over much of Theia, although nowadays its influence is somewhat evened out by other large cities such as Northport, Trentonia and New Senkai City. While initially being dominated by arabic-speakers, ever since Alsavaeid City became gained the status of 'world capital' English has become an increasingly prevalent language as well.
Alsavaeid is one of Theia's largest and most globalised cities, holding significant economic and political influence in the planet. The city hosts the Plurinational Union's government, the ALSANSOC headquarters, a regional office of MP&L, the Yatan-Theian Paranormal Unit, and the Theian World Trade Center. Additionally, numerous institutions of the Yatan-Theian Accord have offices in the city. The city hosts two major ports - the Port of Alsavaeid situated west of the business district, and the Port of Sousania situated south of the World Trade Center. Together, these ports handle 90% of Alsavaeid's trade (with the remainder flowing through Secundus Harbour in the east), and is a significant entrepôt for Theia's eastern regions. Alsavaeid Central train station is a terminus for many lines, including a branch of the Trans-Theia railway, as well as regional services to Secundus and Alkemet. The city is a hub for aerospace through its airport, which has allowed the city to develop a tourist industry; both within the city, and as a gateway for Sousania as a whole.
Famous buildings and attractions in Alsavaeid include Republic Square and Parliament Hill, the Alsavaeid Art Museum, the Spindle observation tower, the Waterfront, Al’yasamin Island, and the EXPO center and TV Tower.
