The Kings are a humanoid species that acts as the namesake and dominant species of the Imperium of Kings, a vast technocratic oligarchy stretching across much of the 'eastern' galaxy - making it by far the largest and most powerful civilisation in the Milky Way galaxy if it was not for their isolationism.
History
(See Imperium of Kings#History)
Tens of millions of years ago, the Kings were a simple species that resided on the planet that would one day be known as "Planet-1C". Unlike a vast majority of the various biological species that has inhabited the galaxy, the Kings had evolved to be entirely immortal - a gift which they greatly appreciated. This all changed one day however, as the Kings came across the crystalized remains of a long-dead god. In their curiosity they collected the gemstones from the god's crystalized corpse, which granted them highly powerful abilities. While it initially seemed like they had 'struck gold', their species was met with a curse after desecrating the god's remains that completely stripped them of their immortality.
Following the first mortal death, the Kings eternally devoted themselves to discovering a method to break the curse, no matter how much they would need to advance to achieve their goal.
