Helsinki is the capital city of Kalevala (a member-republic of the Confederation of Yata) situated in the south of the country within the Uusimaa Province along the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Helsinki is one of the largest commerce and culture hubs within the entire Baltic Sea region with a population of roughly 830 thousand. Historically, Helsinki has been fairly significant due to the involvement of Kalevala in several major conflicts and diplomatic meetings throughout history.
