Jupiter is the 7th planet of the Alpha Sol System and first planet within the Outer Solar System. Jupiter is the largest moon within the Alpha Sol System, having a mass larger than every other planet in the system combined.
History
Before Humanity became spacefaring, Jupiter and its moons were under the control of the Martian Empire, which had established several outposts in the region. These martian outposts were eventually abandoned though, allowing for a new power to seize the region. This power was the Order of Ganymede, a human paramilitary order aligned with the YNF. Under the rule of the OOG Jupiter was turned into an exclusion zone, with their massive spacefleet protecting it from all sides. Other than its rampant militarization, the OOG's rule of the Jupiter System also saw some infrastructural developments, with several small settlements and outposts being built on its moons alongside shielded platforms floating right above Jupiter's upper atmosphere. The OOG's rule over the Jupiter System continued until 320, in which the Order was overthrown and destroyed.
Since this event up until the present, Jupiter has been under the administration of the Jovian Autonomous Government, a loose civil administration set up by the inhabitants of Jupiter's Moons under influence of both the Accord and CIS.
