An alarming trend began being reported as an individual known simply as 'The Great Uniter of the Crimson Cults' had been travelling between known Crimson Cults with the goal of unifying all of them under one banner in order to achieve his goals, prompting the SDS Foundation to launch an investigation in order to hunbt down all cults they could before they aligned with the Uniter, with all governments that had information being asked to provide it. Polsk decided to take action first by deploying its Central Intelligence Agency to infiltrate the cult, only for the SDS to notify them that there wasn't a single centralized religious group as instead they were moreso a collection of hundreds of smaller similar groups, with this 'Uniter' being a threat specifically because they could unify them. Polsk reiterated its intentions to infiltrate and kill them as it feared they would resurrect Miraak, which the SDS explained that they wouldn't as they held no reverence for him and that this wasnt' a 'termination' mission unless if absolutely necessary as they instead favoured detainment, opting to instead explain their belief structure in order to improve the intel it could gain from the governments after making sure the classified information it would give wasn't going to be spread around. The SDS explained that they seemed to primarily worship a god called Jymytošty, but also revered various 'flesh-based' entities as idols like the Mystery Flesh Pit and now-deceased Biomass Crimson, with some individual cults (with the two largest cults being one in New South City and one in Uusi Saimaa, with other major concentrations being northern Catania and the southern Urals) also worshipping other deities though despite these variances most followed the doctrine posited in a holy book known as the 'Crimson Grimoire'.
SDS-Polskan Conflict
Eventually, the SDS Foundation found a lead as it inquired regarding what Polsk knew about Bongus Bingus, former dictator of Bongustan until its dissolution, with Polsk revealing that it had contact with Bongus, that they had a 'cool space program' and that Polsk had both assisted and invaded them in the past. The SDS revealed that Bongus had committed a Crimsonist ritual fairly publicly in 229 CE, and was thus a high-ranking figure within the Crimsonist circle that was to be captured and taken in for questioning as SDS Intelligence had tracked his exact location to Orieneido, Shogunate of Oriento where he served as a local governor and militia leader. Polsk celebrated that it had an excuse to destroy Oriento, prompting the SDS to clarify that it couldn't care less about toppling governments or participating in geopolitics as the entire point of this mission was to just capture Bongus. The SDS notified Oriento of its impending covert military operation into the Bingus Peninsula with 'mandatory' compliance, which Oriento begrudgingly agreed to. Thus, Mobile Assault Squadrons Psi-13 and Xi-8 were disguised as Binguses were dispatched into the Orieneido-Sufinkusu Prefecture as communications were jammed and Polsk sent a battlecruiser above the region to land special forces to help the SDS. Eventually, Bongus and the Orieneido City Government regained contact with the outside woorld and were notified that they were being detained over their Crimsonist affiliation, prompting Bongus to claim that he would need to call for backup and was fortifying with his militia to hold off the SDS paramilitaries. Unfortunately, the 'backup' was unable to arrive in time and Bongus' attempts to swim away led to him being captured by a SDS blockade, allowing the MAS to withdraw as Bongus was taken in for questioning as the SDS promised to deliver 'some details' once it had analysed everything.
Polsk and Osania asked for the details regarding the investigation soon afterwards, which prompted the SDS to respond that the information was still under review regarding what could be revealed. Polsk insisted that the SDS must give the information as they had dealt with cults before and the SDS claims of this being an ongoing threat were insufficient explanations as the SDS had not done anything about Miraak and his spacefleet. The SDS explained that this was a current threat to prevent an already dangerous group (with several significant anomalies having been traced to them in Lake Baikal and Asolab) from becoming even more dangerous group as if unified they could be capable of causing issues on a worldwide scale, thus everything they were doing (including classifying information) was simply to avoid the risk of said eventuality. Polsk acknowledged this before going behind the SDS' back and asked the nations of Yata and Theia if they believed the SDS were 'lying cheating scumbags', which many did, so Polsk proposed that everyone launch a massive revolt, which the Theian Republic opposed despite Polsk's claims that 'they cant possible kill all 9 billion of us' as they believed that surely there was a reason behind all of their secrecy as they had illuded that they were containing hundreds of supernatural threats in order to prevent them from damaging the world, which Polsk didn't agree with. Osania noted that if Polsk wanted to go against the SDS a more secure communications channel was likely needed, so Polsk activated the 'Theia Shield' to block SDS communications and switched to encrypted communications as Polsk proposed that they create a new rival to the SDS as the Theian Paranormal Unit (the League of Theia's anomalous organization) was seemingly quite incompetent and too cooperative with the SDS, but Osania proposed that at first they should probably cooperate with a pre-existing group due to their inexperience, compiling a dossier[1] that described the goals, activities, and alignments of Anodyne, Aurum Dining, the Checkmate Association, the Children of Apollyon, the Church of Gor, the Church of the Red Leader, Club de l'Insolite, the Crimson Cults, Emiro Phantom, the Gensokyo-Iujadogia-Osania, Iolava Robotics, the Legion of Chaos, the Library of Eden, Miller, Patel and Lau Ltd, the Nislandian Range Security Department, Opel Interactive, the Paranormal Investigation Directorate, the SDS Foundation, TERAPRO, the International Avant-Garde, the Theian Paranormal Unit, the University of Equilibrium, the United Nations Anti-Anomaly Agency, the Ascendancy of the Nornir, the Holy Order of Christ, the Scientific Church of Satan, the Illuminati, the Æsir Allegiance, the Unified Academy of Thaumatology, and the International Parahealth Institute, with Polsk showing interest in recruiting Anodyne (which Osania recommended against due to being a pharmaceutical/industrial company), the UNAAA, and GIORC. Out of the previous list, Osania recommended the UNAAA, Library of Eden, the Legion of Chaos, and MP&L as the 4 most capable allies, though Polsk and Osania both agreed that the LoC wasn't a viable ally. After some discussions, Osania and Polsk decided upon contacting the UNAAA as the best ally, opening a communication channel with their headquarters in Mylonagrad as they explained that they weren't satisfied with the 'SDS' services' and were inquiring if the UNAAA could provide 'better services' as the SDS was withholding information about groups that could threaten their nations. UNAAA noted that the SDS kept secrets from everyone, but Polsk claimed this didn't matter as now it directly affected them. The UNAAA and Polsk agreed that terminating anomalies rather than allowing them to live and become threats again. While the UNAAA claimed to be unaffiliated when it came to the SDS, they were confused on why the Crimsonists were suddenly the 'big threat', only for Polsk to use this as a reason why cooperation was a good idea as they didn't know why they were a threat either as the SDS was refusing to tell them beyond the basic fact that they were one. Polsk recounted the events of the SDS-015 Containment Breach, where the SDS had nuked its territory in order to 'preserve the entity' (in Polsk's eyes) instead of letting Polsk kill it, which the UNAAA wasn't aware of but took Polsk's word for it, noting how they had probably used Amnestics (memory-altering drugs) to cover-up the incident by making people believe their loved ones died of natural causes. Polsk proposed exposing the SDS Foundation to the public, which the UNAAA opposoed as it would also expose them to the public and both them and the SDS had a 'Veil Doctrine' designed to keep the 'normal world' and 'anomalous world' separate from one another, as well as Polsk only really knowing the surface level details about the SDS making them claiming that a 'secret organization stealing monsters and wiping memories' wouldn't be very believable. Polsk decided to follow this advice and began looking for more details, uncovering the locations of sites/areas/outposts 1, 2, 4, 31, 54, OB-019, and O-002. Polsk promptly invaded Site-2 by drilling into it, only to find out that it had been abandoned for over a century and a half. Polsk looked for files and remaining computers, though most were stripped long ago which only left them, with the most 'functional' computation device being a semi-functional analogue computer which can only view select documents before crashing, with the main issue being that it couldn't be repaired despite being able to restart. After Polsk spent some time trying to operate the clearly broken computer terminal, it dug in and prepared for the SDS to come and kick them out, as it could only access limited numbers of files such as SDS-1875 and SDS-024.
The SDS later contacted Polsk over the occupation of Site-2, acknowledging that it was obvious Polsk saw them as an enemy over their secrecy which the SDS was willing to tolerate until Polsk had seized a Foundation facility in another country and attempted to use it to access classified classified files within said facility. As this action had 'never happened before' as governments tended to have enough common sense not to sabotage an organization designed to protect Humanity from threats it coouldn't understand, the SDS 'recommended' that Polsk leave the facility at once and leave all technology behind or else it would force them out. Polsk asked why it should leave, to which the SDS responded that Polsk was blatantly occupying a abandoned facility undergoing reconstruction from which the SDS was capable and willing to force them out of, thus they recommended that Polsk be wise to avoid bloodshed as 'without the SDS there was a good chance Polsk would be dead'. Polsk stated 'good luck getting it back', prompting the SDS to mobilize MAS taskforces Gamma-5 (responsible for preventing the exposure of classified information), Epsilon-11 (spec-ops paramilitary used to recapture compromised sites), and Nu-7 (a fully mechanized and armoured military force) to retake the facility while Polsk prepared its own elite forces to fight back. SDS forces moved in from Rostov and Novorossiysk as before surrounding Site-2's entrances in the mountains of the north Caucasus while a Polskan battlecruiser in the sky dropped supplies for the besieged Polskan goards and intercepted transmissions containing all thge data they could gather. The SDS gathered that Polsk didn't even know what their purpose was, explaining how they were created to protect Humanity from anomalous threats which couldn't naturally exist as understood by science without having geopolitics or irrationalism lead them away from their goal, prompting Polsk to claim that simply killing the anomalies before they could do harm was a better choice, which the SDS disagreed with as they believed that simply destroying everything without understanding it to the most intricate details left one open to be destroyed by something similar in the future. Polsk claimed that this didn't stop the UNAAA, though the SDS disagreed as the UNAAA was at least 'cooperative' with them when it came to certain research and developments. Of course, much of what the SDS was saying was embellished to make themselves look better as their non-existence likely wouldn't end the world, though regardless despite being secretive (which arguably wasn't even the worst thing about them), their presence at least for now wasn't a 'negative'. Polsk disregarded all other view points and insisted that it simply 'wouldn't let the anomalies out' and that the SDS seemed too desperate due to the SDS claiming that Polsk's entire mission was flawed as it was based on the SDS not providing every little detail about an ongoing crisis still undergoing analysis and that simply trying to kill everything without understanding how it works or having the necessary facilities or equipment to even contain (let alone kill) any dangerous anomalies. Polsk and the greater CSIS deployed more reinforcements into the siege in order to push back the MAS taskforces, forcing the MAS to reorganize while Polsk was trying to distract them by continuously uploading the same old containment documents the facility still had lying around. Polsk began bombing SDS garrisons in the Black Sea in an attempt to cut off their supply lines while Polskan special forces veterans from Bingterra fought to hold back the SDS attacks as Polsk's forces were pushed into the site itself. Polskan forces began attacking the SDS occupations on the Black Sea Coast in order to destroy their supply lines alongside 2000 reinforcements that landed in the north, with both forces meeting very minimal resistance until they reached the general area that the site was in. As SDS forces managed to breach Site-2's entrance, Polsk began rigging the place to explode and attempting to blow up the entrance to slow down the enemy as paratroopers dropped in to try to cut off the SDS attack into the facility. Unluckily for Polsk, the SDS managed to capture the facility which prompted Captain Jan Szynaski to detonate the rest of the facility which caused significant damage and killed everyone else inside. As Polsk bombed other containment sites in an attempt to cripple the SDS spoke about how flawed it found Polsk's 'mission' to be as it seemed to not understand the damage it could cause and how it believing the SDS having no morals whatsoever was clearly false as if they were truly evil they would simply drop anomalies into Polsk and allow them to rip it apart without much care. Polsk claimed that if the SDS really had morals it would declassify all of the Crimsonist files, threatening to expose thee SDS with all the evidence it had of them existing if they didn't, prompting the SDS to begrudgingly hand over the information if Polsk stopped bombing them (which they called 'trying to cause an apocalypse) while threatening that if they wanted to they could end the world but didn't want to, prompting Polsk to make a similar threat while also boasting about its numerical superiority. The SDS handed over the Crimsonist files, though Polsk immediately just gathered all data, files, communications, and all other details they knew about the SDS and publicly broadcast them, though they were soon forced to place them in the Grand Archive instead as the SDS blocked the distribution of the file. Polsk then decided to recruit additional allies in its 'Anti-SDS Revolution', with the Library of Eden (who viewed the SDS as a contradiction to their view of opposing all classification and censorship, as well as seeing them as 'jailors') and the Legion of Chaos (who saw this as a way to weaken their enemy) signing up to Polsk's plans. Polsk thus decided to start working on its own method organization to contain and neutralize anomalies to rival the SDS, forming the Department of Containing Anomalous Entities as a branch of the CSIS' government. Polsk decided to recruit other nations to help, with the Theian Republic deeming their plan stupid while Karlsfell (a part of Polsk) went along with the plan, Bangus vanishing over the crisis, and Osania proclaiming its neutrality. Polsk explained its view to the TR, claiming that the DCAE was 'the SDS if it had Humanity's views in mind' as it believed that while they were professionals, Polsk had freedom in mind and the SDS wasn't making them feel the freedom they craved. The TR didn't want to risk supernatural creatures wreaking havoc in its country, so Polsk let them know that neither the DCAE, or its three ally organizations would let entities out, though because of this statement a dispute between the DCAE and LOE broke out as the Library stated it in fact intended to make all information public domain and release all entities that wouldn't outright destroy the planet, freaking out DCAE as it didn't believe any anomalies were safe and feared 'gods roaming the universe again'. Polsk went back to recruiting allies to its initiative, with Arstotzka refusing due to its special contract with the SDS, and Isernotaria seeing the whole crisis over the SDS not sharing files about a flesh cult to be irrational. Polsk explained that they were tired of the SDS bossing them around and bombing things for no apparent reason other than 'its for humanity', but regardless Polsk decided to stop pushing the crisis further and instead simply banned the SDS from operating its territory, prompting the SDS to begin a gradual migration of assets held in Polsk into other sites.
The DCAE began its operations by researching the Terazene Crystal containing Miraak (designated 'AE-1') and a stable wormhole leading to another quadrant of the Milky Way (designated 'AE-2'). The SDS on the other hand was in a arguably less fortunate position as due to Polsk's bombings of SDS sites during their conflict a number of facilities were critically damaged, which in Containment-Site-5's case allowed a dangerous entity known as SDS-021 to breach its containment for 3 hours due to a power outage which lead to 1893 mostly civilian casualties due to its proximity to a Yorican village. Due to the incident with SDS-021, the anomaly was moved to Containment-Area-15 in western Theia, causing Polsk to protest as it believed that 'such hazards should be kept on Yata'. Elsewhere, DCAE kept studying the wormhole by opening 'Station Regula 1' near its entrance and sending research ships inside, finding various non-corporeal beings which agreed to share the wormhole with DCAE. In southern Polsk, the DCAE opened 'Research and Containment Site Alpha' as a shared research facility with a surface campus holding labs, computers, officers, apartments for researchers, and an underground bunker area with its own fuel source. DCAE began working alongside the CSIS Interplanetary Intelligence Agency to root out SDS spies leading to the arresting, charging with espionage and execution several 'anomaly detection officers' which hadn't been pulled out of Polsk yet. The SDS complained that it had only been a couple months and not all of its assets had been withdrawn yet, to which Polsk noted that it was now 294 so they were expected to be out right now and any who were found would be executed as spies. The SDS claims they weren't spies but rather officers tasked with tapping into telecommunications to discover new anomalies, prompting Polsk to claim it had its own intel network and that the SDS wasn't welcome, prompting the SDS to complain that it couldn't pull out if its workers kept being killed, so Polsk begrudgingly gave them one week to withdraw. The SDS did come across reports of anomalies still happening in Polsk during its withdrawal, but it decided if Polsk came into any issues with the anomalous due to its ineptitude it was their own problem, though luckily all that DCAE discovered was a child with Human Psiosis which allowed them to exert minor telekinesis via psionics, with the embellished reports being a lure to try to make the SDS violate the withdrawal agreement. DCAE decided to try recruiting former employees from other 'anomalous organizations', though all they managed to recruit were guards and low-ranking employees rather than any that experienced researchers, so it instead funded 6-year-long 'anomalous research degrees' for new recruits. Additionally, some army, navy, airforce, marine, and special force divisions were handed over to the DCAE as its first 'Tactical Assault Forces'. A situation emerged as it was discovered that Miraak's conscience still existed within the crystal so Polsk insisted that it be destroyed at once without care of if it would work or not, so DCAE hid the crystal alongside the CSIS and claimed it was destroyed in order to pacify Polsk, revealing tensions between the planetary Polskan government and the CSIS + DCAE due to Polsk's aggression and CSIS/DCAE's surprising lack of animosity towards the SDS due to seeing them as fellow professionals. These tensions lead to the CSIS contacting the SDS where it clarified that Polsk's views were not its own and that it was still willing to cooperate, thus it proposed that SDS workers proxy as DCAE agents in order to deal with anomalies together until Polsk gave up on its anger, which the SDS accepted as the two worked on setting up collaboration in RCS-Alpha with more dangerous anomalies being transported to the nearest SDS facility. The tensions between Polsk and the CSIS came to their heads as Polsk freaked out that the CSIS was conspiring against it, prompting the CISS to occupy Poolsk and establish martial law until they could learn how to be functional again.
The Great Uniter's Attacks
The Great Uniter had managed to use this chaos to unify most Crimson Cults with the notable exception of the Saimaa Crimsonic Cult in Osania, prompting the SDS to mobilize MAS Taskforces Psi-13 and Xi-8 to intercept the Uniter during his march towards Osania, successfully managing to defeat one of his armies yet failing to capture him which only allowed his 'United Crimson Army' to cross into Osania in greater numbers due to having to gather new recruits. The UCA crossed into Osania from the outback while the SDS was still preparing defences, allowing it to rush in with shock and awe despite Polskan battlecruisers providing aerial support. The initial SDS defences set up to stop the army were caught by surprise and defeated, leading to the main SDS force stationed around the Nislandian Range Superorganism fortifying once it heard of the UCA's approach, with the CSIS providing 2 battlecruisers and a complement of marines to help the defence effort. DCAE offered weapons to the SDS, but the SDS had experimental weaponry that made it unnecessary, so DCAE instead attacked the area where the UCA had first attacked into Osania in order to disrupt their supplies, though not many enemy combatants were in the area anymore, so they simply began moving up the river. Polsk attempted to block Crimsonist forces from crossing the Saimaa River with river-sized battleships, though unfortunately repeated barrages from Kap Yo and Ju Kӓpšju creatures created via Carnomancy managed to sink the ship, necessitating its replacement with a much larger space battleship as the CSIS ground forces regrouped with reinforcements due to significvant defeats. CSIS attempted to make a massive push against the UCA from behind with tanks and battle drones (robotic soldiers wearing Polskan exoskeletons), though CSIS forces suffered significantly more desertions than Polsk had endured before due to the unusual flesh-based weaponry and battle-creatures used by the Crimsonists. Eventually, the SDS executed its 'second offensive' while Polsk's drones were also attacking. As they had suffered difficulties northwards, the Crimsonists began attacking the Etelä Saimaa Communication Centre on the southern part of the front, using the facility to send communications into SDS-controlled territory once they captured it, managing to use it to bypass the SDS' communication jamming to gain contact with the Saimaa Crimsonic Church, soon being followed by the SCC rising from their hidden area within the Nislandian Range Superorganism to join the UCA in its 'holy war', launching attacks on the SDS from behind, allowing the UCA to advance despite increased CSIS attacks and bombings in an attempt to get ahead of the UCA's moving armies. Polsk attempted to figure out if the SDS needed reinforocements due to them suffering defeats by the hands of the UCA and SCC, but the SDS didn't respond so they tried to use carrier pigeons. Once the UCA and SCC had managed to fully merge both of their forces and the SDS launched a counterattack, the Crimsonists decided to flee from Osania by rushing southwards and eventually making their way back into the Outback
