Orgone energy is understood to be a universally permeating life force that cannot be seen. Orgone energy is known to be the driving force behind conjuring elemental magic, but is not necessarily the omni-element, as it is thought to be in the occult and other esoteric circles, especially with regards to the elemental magic once present all over Theia. All things, including people, objects, planets and stars, contain innate orgone energy, and especially sensitive people could manipulate orgone. Today, only a few known beings that are not "elemental beings" themselves (such as Kaphi'si) have been known to manipulate orgone. As a result, orgone is synonymous with a "universal life force" that manifests as the soul, and which allows for consciousness.
As a substance, orgone possesses a remarkably high gravimetric energy density, orders of magnitude higher than conventional energy sources such as hydrogen, or perhaps void energy. And although the Kaphi'si have been known to utilise orgone as electrical power, scientific circles understand orgone to be a non-renewable source based on current models of how the energy percolates through systems, even if it is considered to be "universally permeating". For example, one scientist has proposed that the life-death cycle of sentient beings is the primary driver of the flow of orgone. Therefore, mainstream science has little regard for the use of orgone, although various orgone accumulators have been used by some for malicious purposes.
Uses
The World Machine accumulated orgone as energy to power its interdimensional teleportation/translation device, enough of which was used to successfully teleport Cormac Varady to the fourth dimension and onto the fifth dimension. The Flavros Project also accumulated orgone energy through the harvesting and killing of orgone-rich Kaphi'si beings, which were used to power its superweapon. Similarly, the portal clock contains the same amount of energy held within the Flavros Project system, albeit the accumulated orgone was digitally revived as Guinevere and then shattered across time, through a Digiverse prism that Sapphire threw at the superweapon. This ultimately led to the creation of the planet Eos, ultimately sourcing orgone energy from only a few thousand beings.
