The Spectrosphere is an aggregation of numerous astral planes that share a common structure which overlaps with the Noosphere, allowing for easy transference between the two spaces. The general structure of the Spectrosphere is centred around a partially permeable 'reality' known as the Median Space, to which all other realities within the Spectrosphere are attached to; most notably including most Afterlives which exist thanks to the disembodied minds of deceased individuals being easily pulled into the Spectrosphere thru the Noosphere upon death, allowing them to ascend to an applicable stable reality to continue existence in.
Median Space
The majority of the Spectrosphere's astral-planes are concentrated in tthe Median Space, a semi-permeable existence housing countless astral landscapes held together by a cloud-like "ocean" which allows for travel between realms via 'diving' through it or travelling instantaneously via tethers connecting the realities held within it. The Median Space's realities have varied appearances, but generally involve a fractal-like topography composed of glass-like and cloud-like materials of unknown atomic composition, often proving to be 'unstable' due to their proneness for individuals to 'fall through them' despite being incredibly impervious to damage. The Median Space, despite its harsh and alien environment, is inhabited by a metaphysical species known as 'Angels' which act as custodians for the entire space, maintaining its integrity alongside either preserving planes in their natural state or molding them into intricate fractal-like constructs/habitats made possible by a superorganism-based social structure allowing them to naturally collaborate on functions, leading to them adopting the role of being 'custodians'. Angels are able to exit Spectrosphere by opening gateways into standard realities, though they rarely do so other than to protect places they hold with significance and sacredness.
Alongside the Angels, the Median Space is home to various other entities such as the Lesser Spirits, a collection of entities much weaker and much less intelligent than Angels (which are the 'Greater Spirits') with a greater tether to material worlds, connecting themselves to specific locations and environments to sustain themselves which they may fiercely protect by seamlessly transitioning between the Spectrosphere and said location via their connection. Additionally, Deities created via the collective will of mortal lifeforms become present within the Spectrosphere due to their nature as 'divine', making them capable of ascending to the Spectrosphere as a sacred somewhere to inhabit, often permanently being transferred there as Lesser Spirits or rarely Angels if their presence in the physical realm is destroyed.
Thanks to a incredibly concentration of Memoria and especially Divine Energy, the Spectrosphere naturally attracts wandering minds into it upon death thanks to its concentration of energies, though the Angels were not too keen on having their home contaminated by wandering intelligences, thus they created a second space within the most permeable reach of the Median Space to naturally attract and house them, taking the form of an infinitely recursive fractal space made to naturally form realms to house, protect, and nurture the minds of the deceased under the Angels' protection and maintenance as higher entities with reality-manipulating capabilities.
Afterlives
Attached to the larger Median Space, countless 'Afterlife' realms have formed in order to house the deceased minds that are pulled into the Spectrosphere, acting as self-contained worlds onto themselves specialized to attract specific kinds of minds into themselves once they cross from the Noosphere into the Spectrosphere. The way in which a lifeform is transferred into an Afterlife is made possible by the death of their physical body (Orgone-based) separating their non-physical mind (Memoria-based) from the material world, ejecting it as a disembodied spirit into the Noosphere which is naturally pulled into the Spectrosphere (or in certain cases remains in the material world as a Ghost or is prevented from reaching the Spectrosphere), after which they are pulled into the Afterlife most compatible with their mind.
Physically, Afterlives possess their own material plane (albeit one which is more unstable than standard reality with an ARS rating of 73ξ) within which a Memoria-based copy of one's form is recreated to inhabit, though due to still being 'biological' in some form, they are completely incapable of physically leaving an Afterlife even if a gateway of some-sort to leave existed. All lifeforms within Afterlives are additionally unable to die as they are already dead, thus all damage will regenerate shortly after it occurs (alongside many natural urges such as hunger, thirst, or being tired being suppressed). Following the discovery of the Afterlives by the JADIRAD Facility's Department of Metaphysical Studies, the different afterlives have widely been classified as ranging from being a rewarding 'paradise', a static 'limbo', a punishing 'perdition', or something much different.
Afterlives within the Spectrosphere
- Eizon: An ethereal plane constructed by Yarouh-cosm to serve as an afterlife for Hyacinthans.
- Forest of Decay: A mysterious realm only seen in astral projections which encompasses a pine forest with several rivers which appears to gradually destroy those within it.
- Hell: A punitive realm focused on the punishment of a soul after death by its native Demons, entrapping them for a given time either temporarily if their acts were less severe while others remain there permanently.
- Median Space*:
- Sacred Place Above: Tritonists balance are promised eternal life with the Gods in the Sacred Place Above, nameless paradise due to its sanctity.
Alternative Afterlives
- Disembodiment:
- Lingering: Rarely, the spirits of the deceased may linger within corporeal reality as a disembodied spirit for various reasons such as chance, the need for revenge, or unfinished business, making them able to be intentionally summoned via séance.
- Non-Corporeal Oneiroi: If they so wish, corporeal lifeforms with a presence in the Oneirosphere are capable of permanently transferring their consciousness into it, becoming immortal 'Non-Corporeal Oneiroi' with no way to return to the material world.
- Realm of the Forgotten: A now destroyed shadow of the fourth dimension that acted as a labyrinthine Memoria space which entrapped those which were forgotten such as deceased deities, alongside certain mortals close to death. The creation of Eos presumably lead to its destruction.
