Ghosts are lingering souls[1] that haven't moved on into an Afterlife[2] that manifest as a corporeal entity, varying in appearance from an invisible presence, to translucent, to a barely visible wispy shape, to realistic, lifelike forms. They may manifest on their own due to whatever reason, be it chance, revenge for an unjustified death or unfinished business, or they may be intentionally summoned via necromancy or séance. They are often thought to be the still-lingering remains of a being's Orgone Energy.

Ghosts are often associated with various religions or spiritual practices, although they can exist without this association. In these religious-spiritual contexts they may also be associated with Deific or Demonic entities.

Demographics

Ghost populations are generally sporadic, with them appearing either alone bound to aa single location, large amounts concentrated in a single area or location, or completely free of any range restrictions, moving wherever. Despite this, there are several "abnormal" Ghost populations, such as the Free-Port of Luvamatrilia, which is mostly composed of various spectral entities.

Trivia

  • They can't remember their deaths, but can remember the emotion they felt during it.
  • Some of them are in denial about being dead.
  • Most Ghosts generally "appear" at or near the location they died, or a location important to them after death.
  • Ghosts do not inhabit afterlives, and are specifically deceased entities which have not entered one.
  • Planets afflicted with a curse of undeath often have high concentrations of ghosts, whom also tend to be much more aggressive than usual
  • Ghosts can usually be bound to graves to prevent them from manifesting.
  1. The metaphysical essence of a living being.
  2. Though they can seemingly "visit" the afterlife.
