Yata[1] is the third closest planet to Alpha Sol, as well as being the second-largest, second-most massive, and third-most dense terrestrial planet in the Alpha Sol System, second only Theia. It is the most populated planet both within the Alpha Sol System and the entirety of the Yatan-Theian Accord as a whole, hosting a population of 7.93 billion individuals belonging to various species, although the two most notable are the native Humans and Yomtach. Yata's surface is consists of roughly 29% terrestrial landscapes, with the remaining 71% being made up of various bodies of water.

Yata as a planet is fairly unique on a cosmic scale, being one of the most Void Energy rich planets to ever be discovered despite much of its reserves being used up, which when paired with its various dimensional oddities and anomalies has made it a remarkable point of study for scientists across the Galactic Community.

History

Yata's history is divided into four major eras, starting off with the longest 'ancient' era which stretched from the planet's birth until 300 BCE, an interlude "dark age" from 300 BCE to 0 CE, the fragmentary era from 0 CE until 376 CE, and finally the unified era beginning in 376 CE.

Little is known of the ancient era, with all known information sourced from architectural studies and the few surviving documents from the period. This period was much like the period that followed The Great Sleep, consisting of numerous nation-states competing for various purposes. Unlike modernity, their inability to stop The Great Sleep lead to them never advancing to the same levels as modern humanity has, only achieving technologies akin to that of Yata by 100 CE.

The Great Sleep was a dark age for the planet, with each and every human (who were the sole predominant species) falling into a centuries-long comatose state due to the rampant Scandimaro Sleeping Sickness, leaving the planet to fall into ruin as the Yomtach remained unaware. During this period the non-native Nihilist Iujado arrived on the planet, flourishing during their period of dominance thanks to Yata's vast mineral wealth and lack of anyone able to defend it, destroying most records to prevent a strong foe from emerging if humanity was to reawaken. The sole functioning human habitation during this period was the Free State of Mei'ra located on an artificial platform in the South Atlantic, a eugenicist regime determined to restore humanity via whatever means possible, most notably making use of satellites to attempt to contact the still hypothetical possibility of alien life. Despite many experiments by Mei'ra to re-awaken humanity, they would in stead unexpectedly wake up on their own after 3 centuries of hibernation with only little to none of their memories intact, leading to society effectively starting over.

In the fragmentary era Humanity would begin to gradually rebuild and recolonise their homeworld, with various new societies such as Luxuria, Sizzle, Tritonia, and Yetia emerging alongside many others. This period was marked by largescale warfare across much of the planet over various reasons, only occasionally interrupted with periods of peace and diplomacy. In 116 CE the planet Theia, homeworld of the Theian Natives arrived in the Alpha Sol System after a period of aimless travel thru interstellar space after being ejected from its home system. Humanity was quick to take notice, using their recently developed spacefaring technologies to begin largescale colonisation of the planet as the species' second home, one which largely ended up being much more peaceful. Whenever Yata came under threat Theia often acted as a safe-haven for humanity to persist such as during the Yetian National Front's brief occupation of the planet, the Yomtach Insurgency which saw the Yomtach re-emerging full force and briefly taking over the planet before being rendered nearly extinct yet integrated into human society, attacks by interstellar powers such as Foarhinnea, and various internal threats posed by figures such as the New Luxurian Empire briefly before Theia's arrival.

The unity era began in 376 BCE, which saw the Socialist Union of Yetia subsumed into the Eurasian Confederacy, which went on to become the first major pluralistic unifying force for Yata, briefly managing to unify the entirety of the planet until its collapse due to a myriad of internal crises such as corruption and securocratic dominance in 397 BCE. This period was followed by a brief return to a fragmentary state until 441 CE, which was the formation of the Yatan Commonwealth as a more equitable and sustainable successor to The Confederacy, managing to reunify the disparate factions that emerged from the ruins of the collapse in 397 BCE over the next two decades, allowing Yata to finally reach to the stars as an interstellar power alongside many of those that had migrated from the planet in the past.

  1. Formerly known as "Earth" until The Great Sleep, a name which largely fell out of use after Humanity awoke.
