The Department of Containing Anomalous Entities is a department within the Commonwealth of Independent Systems responsible for researching, rehabilitating and containing anomalous objects and entities.
DCAE was founded during the Polsk-SDS Schism in 293, operating as a mostly autonomous organization tied to the CIS Government. During this initial formation phase they were openly hostile to the SDS Foundation, while still willing to go through under the table cooperation. Though later on this cooperative angle dissipated, especially following the formation of the SDL Coalition, and Director James Winters' agreements with the elusive Library of Eden organization. In 360 DCAE's parent organization, the SDL, merged with the Accord Occult-Force to form the United Occult Initiative, of which DCAE is a prominent member.
DCAE researches anomalous objects, entities and phenomena within the CIS, containing dangerous ones and rehabilitating safe, sapient anomalies. Their research is available to the public, due to their view that public knowledge is beneficial for humanity.
