The Scientific Church of Satan is an anti-theistic occult organization and member of the United Occult Initiative[1] closely aligned with LaVeyan Satanism[2]. The SCS opposes all religions, instead believing in the supremacy of human will over any religious leaders, prophets, or actual deities[3].
Doctrine wise the SCS originates from LaVeyan Satanism, sharing various similarities. One notable difference though is the SCS expresses a form of "antitheistic utopianism", stating that the destruction of religion and deific figures alongside the furtherment of technology would lead to a much more improved society. A notable similarity with Laveyan Satanism is that the SCS is atheistic in nature, with the leadership and a majority of the members denying the existence of god, instead using Satan as a symbol for individualism and freedom, although the SCS also has some members following theistic satanism, which is not really targeted by their antitheistic rhetoric.
While they may have somewhat eccentric ideological and philosophical beliefs, their day to day activities primarily include antitheistic activism and technological development, expressing their occult knowledge and practice to create efficient paratechnology, which is greatly utilised by the United Occult Initiative, of which the SCS is a prominent member despite its somewhat tense relations with some of its members. Despite these tensions, the SCS has proven to be a valuable member ever since its membership in the AOF, due to the proficiency of Scientific-Satanist Warlocks in anti-theologicical, epistemological, and counter-cult operations.
