The Concord of Armed Exorcists is a decentralized religious organization aligned with the 3 main abrahamic faiths. It was unofficially formed to counter the increasing significance of anomalous activity in the world during the SDS-UOI Conflict, aiming to target and capture anomalous objects and entities, terminating those which go against their religious dogma and utilising ones it deems acceptable for humanitarian or military use.
The Concord was initially founded as a neutral and moral front for defending Humanity against paranormal threats, although also functions as a military and political order with connections to the now defunct Holy State of Canaan and its predecessor The Holy Land. They regard themselves as the most recent interaction of an 'Army of the Lord' in service of the people of Yata and other planets in opposition to various threats against purity, the protection of faithful morals, and defending human life.
Organization
The Concord is organized into several "divisions", each serving a specific task;
- The Council of Three: A union of representatives from various abrahamic religious organization together forming the "governance division".
- The Scholars: The Researchers and Archivists of the Concord forming the "support division".
- The Listeners: The various undercover operatives and preachers acting as messengers forming the "intelligence division".
- The Warriors: The combat arm of the Concord formed out of some of its most zealous members. They are responsible for most of the military of the entire Concord forming the "combat division".
- The Charitable: The charity arm of the Concord that focuses on providing food, labour, and outreach to impoverished communities.
Council of Three
The Concord is lead by the "Council of Three" (Referring to the 3 major Abrahamic Religions), with various representatives from Christian Denominations & Organizations, Islamic Schools & branches, Jewish Branches, Churches, Mosques, Synagogues, etc. As you would expect, there is occasional strife in this council due to differing religious and moral beliefs, but they are typically united by their common goal of working together for the 'good of mankind', opposing "demonic entities", suppressing "Heathen Cults" and promoting "theological unity".
Foreign Relations
The Concord is largely aligned with abrahamic faiths such as the many Christian Denominations, Islamic Schools & Branches, and Jewish Branches. These organizations additionally act as the members of the Council of Three, allowing this alliance to be nearly absolute. The other main ally of the Concord was the Holy State of Canaan, a sovereign state that was established in the levant in 396 following the disappearance of The Holy Land. Canaan acted much like a sponsor to the Concord, providing them with resources, funding, and buildings for their use. Following its dissolution and incorporation into the Arab Federation the local governments of the Province of Palestine and Federal City of Jerusalem have continued to honour the Concord's arrangements with their predecessor. Few other organizations have an established friendly relationship with the Concord, with the few that do including the likes of some factions of the Library of Eden and several others.
The Concord opposes every "anomalous religious organization" such as the Crimsonists, Mechanicalists, Quinarists and Stargazers, among others. The Concord designates these organizations as heathens, refusing to cooperate with them, alongside often leading armed assaults against them. Alongside these more predictable enemies, the Concord also opposes any organization of doing harm to the public such as Club de l'Insolite, the Legion of Chaos, and many others. 'Shadowy' secular organizations with ties to the occult such as the SDS Foundation and United Occult Initiative are also mistrusted, but not inherently opposed.
