The Accord Occult-Force (Formerly "United-Nations Anti-Anomaly Agency") was a coalition of over a hundred paranormal organizations under the command of the Yatan-Theian Accord dedicating themselves to researching, containing and terminating dangerous anomalous objects, entities and phenomena and securing non-threatening anomalies away from the public eye. Due to these termination missions it engaged in the Accord Occult-Force had developed several highly advanced paratechnologies to streamline this process to have minimal human casualties.
The Accord Occult-Force's stance with anomalies was different than the SDS Foundation's stance of containing all anomalies they discover if feasible and ethical. The Accord Occult-Force's primary directive was the defence of humanity, superceding its directive to research and understand the "parathreats" it discovered. If it deemed something a threat to the continued existence of humanity, it would take whatever action it deemed necessary to eliminate the threat. Be it containment, termination, destruction, etc. When it came to non-threatening parathreats, the AOF was much more willing to utilise anomalies to its own advantage, be it for technology or other interests. Despite this, it still wished to conceal the existence of anomalies form the public by avoiding unnecessary use of anomalies in public settings, and rehabilitating sapient anomalies in gated communities.
The Accord Occult-Force was dissolved in 360 as it and its contemporaries in the SDL Coalition merged to form the United Occult Initiative, although alot of the AOF's structure was incorporated into the UOI.
Mission
The Accord Occult-Force's goal was to protect humanity against any paranormal threats via any means necessary, even if these means may be seen as cruel or unjustified towards the anomalous world it combated against. The Accord Occult-Force and its predecessor the Anti-Anomaly Agency were entrusted by the United Nations of Yata, League of Theia and Yatan-Theian Accord to carry out this task in turn for being supplied with whatever resources the AOF required to complete it. Safe, Sapient anomalies were contained, and usually housed in either a humanoid containment facility or gated 'para-community' based on their properties.
The Accord Occult-Force itself operated in relative secrecy, avoiding public knowledge of their existence to avoid mass-panic and other resulting chaos from such a reveal. In this secrecy it conducted its operations against Anomalous objects, beings, and phenomena with the goal of terminating them to avoid any threat from their existence.
Structure
The Accord Occult-Force was composed out of 5 main divisions, these being the High Command, Action Division, Diplomatic Division, Support Division and the Occult Council.
- Occult Council: Consisted of hundreds of representatives from various paranormal organizations that serve as the "leadership" of the AOF.
- High Command: Coordinated, Directed and Administrated the AOF.
- ACTION Division: Observed, Researched and Eliminated Anomalies. Additionally responsible for the AOF's Armed-Forces.
- ADDRESS Division: Maintained diplomatic ties with Organizations, Nations and Communities.
- ASSIST Division: Handled Logistics and R&D.
History
- The Anti-Anomaly Agency was formed in the year 36 by the United Nations of Yata following a series of anomalous events during the Empire Wars leading to mass losses of life. The A.A.A was tasked with preventing such an occurence from ever happening again.
- In 293 Polsk contacted the A.A.A in order to aid them against the Crimson Cults which had been causing trouble for them during this era, which the A.A.A refused to do due to Polsk's demands.
- In 314 the A.A.A reorganized itself into the Accord Occult-Force, moving from United Nations command to Yatan-Theian Accord command. A few years later during the YNF's attack on the Accord the AOF was the only department of the Accord not obliterated during the Attack on Unity Station, allowing it to act as a provisional authority for the accord and organizing its remnants into a proper fighting force.
- In 321 the AOF and SDS launched their joint space-venture known as "The Farout Project", establishing a distant human redoubt colony on the planet Astria.
- In 353 the AOF revised its policy when it comes to safe & sapient anomalies, prohibiting any termination requests being approved when it comes to such anomalies.
- In 358 the AOF absorbed the SDS Personnel within Farout Project due to the ongoing SDS-SDL Conflict.
- In 360 the AOF and SDL merged to form the United Occult Initiative, dissolving both organizations in the process.
