Sakamoto Fuji, better known by her anglicised name Wisteria, is a Dorian demi-goddess who serves as the third and current High Representative of the San system, as well as the Madam Administrator of the eponymous planet. She is the older sister of Sakura Sakamoto and Psychotria Sakamoto. She is behind many significant events in history, including orchestrating the Theian Divine Resurgence, unleashing the Annihilation, and the Miyaki Project, the progenitor of the digiverse.

She is in possession of the Starlight Serenity, a space yacht tuned for rapid voidspace travel.

History

Hailing from the planet Doria in Deep Space, she was born to traveller gods that distributed their blessings across countless worlds. When she was a teenager, her mother Camellia seemingly abandoned her leaving Sakura and Psychotria, twins of the age of 5, into her care. According to Psychotria's memories, Camellia ventured into the Mydeian Forest on Doria, and never returned. Navigating on her own, Wisteria brought them to Theia, where they remained for 7 years. When a sudden cataclysm erupted, Wisteria sought to protect Psychotria's life, believing he could not defend himself, and the two left Sakura on Theia, where she would grow to become Tenno, a god in her own right. Returning to Doria, after many years she renounced her family's tradition of travelling, and feeling guilty for abandoning Sakura, decided to return to the Alpha Sol System. She believed that she could never truly reconnect with her estranged sibling, and began adopting many unique personas that would interact with Sakura's life, hoping to rein her back.

Centuries later, she was instrumental in the management of the Miyaki Project. Sakura's interactions with the SDS prompted Wisteria to work for them, and she adopted the likeness of Aldren and Alana Tremar as dual aliases to steer her actions. Her commitment to the Miyaki Project on behalf of her benefactors - Carbonado and Isla - proved to be a strain on her wellbeing as the project took an inevitable dark turn, imprisoning a population in Yakamoto and using them for mass testing. It ultimately proved disastrous when Sakura tracked her to the project's location - the anomalous "nation" of Izumo . Knowing a confrontation was unavoidable, she was forced to choose between Sakura and her highly valued work for the Project. She succeeded in preventing Sakura from interfering with the project, inadvertently exposing SDS involvement in the process. With the intense scrutiny of the SDS that followed, and further deepening Sakura's sense of betrayal, she escaped Yata with the Miyaki Project technology in her possession. She would eventually use this to create her own functioning prototype of the Digiverse years before Carbonado could.

Although she never decided on a destination, by a chance encounter she arrived on the burgeoning Empyrium world of San, which had just been declared the capital. Using her technology, she rapidly worked her way up Sanian society until she would eventually be elected the Administrator of the planet. She was instrumental in recreating the city of Solanta in the digiverse, a so-called "night city" that was an exact replica that people would enter when they were asleep. Her work attracted the attention of the Imperial Authority who sought her expertise, allowing her to also claim the role of High Representative of the San system. She would rule in peace until 408 CE, when her old friends from the Alpha Sol System, Sakura included, were caught up in the cataclysm that created the Earendel Dark Nebula. With assistance from the future fate Earendel, she assisted them in hiding from Amesidian while also concealing herself from Sakura until the time was right. When the group eventually returned to Theia and confronted Amesidian, she watched from afar. At the point Sakura was nearly overcome, she appeared to her and bestowed her remnants of her power that she had lost previously, allowing her to distract Amesidian long enough to destroy the Flavros Project.

After the ensuing chaos created the portal clock, Sakura had vanished and Wisteria set off to find her. When she entered the portal clock however, she was transported back to San, confronted by her guards and by Camellia, who had inexplicably returned from her disappearance, also by means of the portal clock. Although she held animosity towards her mother, the two agreed to a tenuous partnership to find Sakura and bring her home. With help from Isla, they located Sakura on the planet Annadonia and escaped the planet, while Camellia passed through the portal clock back to Theia. On her return, she and Sakura reunited with Psychotria who had also passed through the portal clock moments prior. She was also present for when the Twelverealm Gateway Offering was finally completed, resurrecting Guinevere. She watched her mother die as Guinevere used her heart as the catalyst for the creation of the planet Eos.

As everyone tried to find a sense of normalcy following the Eos Incident, Wisteria returned to San, once again parting with Sakura and Psychotria to return to her duties. She continued for another 54 years, until she was contacted by Black Opal, who requested her aid in transporting precious cargo in the Digiverse as far away as possible from Alpha Sol. He had, in fact, digitalised the whole planet of Eos to protect it against a Theian invasion and Wisteria agreed to help, sending herself with a flotilla of Empyrium ships to a rendezvous point, where after exchanging fire with Theian ships, rescued Black Opal and escaped. Returning to the San system, she helped reconstruct Eos out of the Digiverse, where she managed the planet's integration into the Empyrium.
