Isla, (born Timea Kadyrov,) also known by her SDS classification SDS-1875-A or by her pseudonym Ilcadia, is the SDS Foundation's Head of Public Operations, the Senior Ambassador to TERAPRO, and a member of the Overseer Council. Isla is widely regarded as the ‘shining gem’ of the SDS, improving their public image and recognition of their good work in contrast with their ‘shady’ business. Outside of her PR work, she was an overseer of the Digiverse project.
History
Born as Timea Kadyrov in 103 CE in Zaporozhye (then part of the Turkish Republic, nowadays the Confederacy), she began her tenure as an SDS scientist in Site-2 approximately three years before SDS-1875's containment breach. As one of the scientists operating the computer that day, she was one of the witnesses to the emergence of the ILCADOS AI that proceeded to kill almost every scientist in the facility. Surviving the initial incident, she recuperated with her team to disable the computer, only to be captured and severely electrocuted. In doing so, the computer inadvertently "hijacked" Timea with its own conscience, overwriting Timea's own conscience. Now calling herself "Isla" (an attempt by the conscience to humanise the acronym "ILCADOS",) the SDS kidnapped her after she wandered out the facility, fitting her with a "mediator circuit" to suppress any ill thoughts the conscience may have had, due to its inability to differentiate friend and foe.
Her new brain pattern overrode many biological functions, preserving her 28 year old self. Following the incident, she no longer needed to eat, sleep or drink. For the next 5 years of her life, Isla was held in a psychiatric facility to develop her primary socialisation (which she never fully developed) and therefore reach a point where she no longer needed a mediator circuit. By 137 CE, Isla was able to interact with people without the need for her mediator circuit, but still suffered some aggressive episodes, some of which were described as "murderous" by observers. In response, surgeons implanted an electromagnet in her skull to which she can attach her mediator circuit when she has an episode. Further surgery was done to implant a digiverse prism into her frontal cortex, at the expense of a lobotomy.
Following her surgery, the SDS offered her a new job in management - having taken interest in her extreme intelligence acquired from a robotic conscience. She quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the head of public relations, and by extension the highest ranked SDS member whose identity remains public.
