Special Defensive Safeguards

The only known instance of SDS-007 is contained within a large tungsten sarcophagus structure surrounding it on all sides on the southern shore of Lake Chad. The Chamber must be inspected at a regular interval for signs of damage. If any damage is detected by sensor systems to the sarcophagus or to observation glass, all airlocks, doors, and windows will be sealed shut until manually deactivated with a password. In such an instance MAS β-7 will be called to Provisional-Site-3, where SDS-007 is contained in order to recontain it. This is typically done by shocking any escaping tendrils of SDS-007 and eliminating all other presence such as void energy escaping from its chamber via other means.

SDS-007 itself was contained within Provisional-Site-3, but samples of it are contained in places such as Storage-Site-4. The United Occult Initiative has since then captured both of these facilities, maintaining SDS-007's containment.

Description

SDS-007 is an infectious non-sentient organism which is born due to a significant disaster or accident in a Void Energy Powerplant. Any full on theories on what causes its emergence are unconfirmed and are only speculative, but Void Radiation is likely responsible. The only known case of SDS-007 is located in the ruins of Red City in the SDS facility located within it known as Provisional-Site-3. SDS-007 takes the form of a "corruption", spreading heavily void-radiative tendrils and branches across the ground.

The first structure it forms is its main "heart" known as SDS-007-1, which upon being born latches onto the ground as it grows throughout its environment. The next structure to be formed is a series of root-like tendrils spreading throughout the ground, corrupting it into a similar material, this is known as SDS-007-2. Any organism located nearby to SDS-007 will be infected by it and mutate into a heavily disfigured dark blue version of itself, lacking many of its past characteristics, these are known as SDS-007-3. SDS-007-1 will begin spreading acros sall nearby surfaces with its tendrils until it is no longer capable of expanding, or is contained/destroyed.
