Luna is a large rocky moon that orbits the planet Yata, acting as the planet's sole true natural satellite that orbits at a distance of 384 thousand kilometres. Luna was the first object to ever be visited by the Human species native to the planet that it orbits, though no permanent settlements were created until 280 CE. Before any sustained bases could be established, the YNF initiated the Polar Gravitational Array tests, Anlace 1 tests, and various other weapons tests in the 120s which greatly damaged Luna as significant portions of its crust were ejected into orbit, taking a century to slowly fall back down onto the surface which proved threatening enough as to dissuade settlement efforts. From its initial settlement in 280 CE until 441 CE Luna was contested between several Yatan states who staked claims under their own small bases until the formation of the Yatan Commonwealth, finally unifying Luna under one government as a Planetary Union, later being inherited by the Yatan-Theian Federation once it unified both Yata and Theia until its own collapse in the Second Concordance, leading to the establishment of Luna's current government under the Yatan-Theian Accord.

The Commonwealth of Luna is the federated governing body that administers the entirety of Luna ever since the Second Concordance saw the Yatan-Theian Federation and its Planetary Union of Luna being declared defunct and merged into the Yatan-Theian Accord as self-governing planetary governments. The government of the Commonwealth of Lunas is divided into 3 primary branches, the Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary.

The Executive Government is headed by the Chairperson as a fairly powerful head of state responsible for directing Luna's governance. The Legislature consists of the unicameral 'Lunar Senate' headed by the 'Deputy-Chairperson' who acts as the head of government responsible for acting as a bridge between the executive and legislative, which is responsible for voting on new laws and reforms. The Judiciary consists of the 'Constitutional Court of Luna' responsible for interpreting the law and handling high-profile court cases.

The government of Luna is based in the city of Yueqiu, the largest metropolitan area on the planet situated in a remarkably deep lava tube located towards the north of the side of Luna that faces Yata. Several other major settlements also exist on Luna, with the second largest being the city of Moranagrad located near the south pole.

Economy

Luna is home to a regulated market economy with significant state intervention in various industries, most notably the mining industry and the transport industry. Luna's most profitable 'native' company is the Yueqiu Spaceport Authority, a state-directed company responsible for handling most transport and trade to-and-from the planet. Thanks to Luna's lighter gravity, it serves as a vital shipping point when it comes to trade with the very populated planet of Yata which it orbits, with most trade heading to and from Yata at some point passing through Luna's spaceports. Thanks to this importance, Luna has over time additionally developed its own local industries in the form of a growing service industry.

Moranagrad

Moranagrad is a major urban area and capital of the Commonwealth of Devana located towards Luna's south pole. It was initially established by the Eurasian Confederacy as its primary base on Luna in 377 CE, following which it was governed by ASSU/Lineland from 397 CE to 441 CE before falling under the rule of the planetary governments.

Lunar-Area-76

Lunar-Area-76 is a SDS site built on the far-side of Luna with a permanent population of a few hundred, being the oldest continuously inhabited settlement on Luna. Area-76 is primarily used to contain anomalies that are safer to contain in a lower-gravity environment as well as researching the few anomalies present on Luna itself.

"Trent-653087" crater

This crater was created in the famous "Acolyte" incident which saw a fake asteroid containing a type 1 HAWK Craft collided with the lunar surface. It is located on a point around the lunar equator with its impact site just shy of diameter of 1 kilometre. After the impact a large area of highly concentrated radiation was projected to a range of 300 kilometres around the impact site, growing stronger the closer one got to its centre. 5 days after the impact a "strange black oval ship" appeared seemingly out of nowhere in lunar orbit. After issuing warnings to the other ships in orbit it moved over the impact site. After few further minutes, further instructions and activities that were covered by a cloud of black objects the ship completed its proclaimed "recovery and removal mission", clearing the crater and surrounding area of any of the asteroids debris and subsequent radiation. What remained was simply the physical changes to the lunar surface from the impact.

After the Human-Trigal conflict that followed just shortly after, a memorial was built inside the crater, commemorating all the fallen soldiers and civilians of the war. It has since served as a reminder that there are forces out in the cosmos hidden from sight which far more powerful than humanity. It and the incident that led to its creation also greatly influenced the Commonwealth of Independent Systems standing and relationship with a secret organisation.

Yueqiu

Yueqiu is the largest urban area on Luna and the capital of both the Commonwealth of Yueqiu and the entirety of the Commonwealth of Luna. Yueqiu's most notable structure is the Yueqiu Spaceport built by the United States of Sizzle in 365 CE, allowing Yueqiu to serve as a significant trade hub for ships travelling to-and-from Yata and Luna itself, negating the need to build thrusters capable of exiting Yata's strong gravity and braving its dense atmosphere.
