The Technate of Altair is a member state of the Yatan-Theian Accord formed following "The Altair"'s ascension request to join the Accord, which was approved after The Altair met all of the requirements for extrasolar ascension.
The Technate of Altair on a local scale operates as a pure technocracy, having technical and scientific experts in charge of its nation's government within the "Central Committee of Altair", in which one individual is elected from the committee to be the official designated Head of State, with the current Head being Venn Devial. On interstellar matters Altair acts more democratically, participating in Accord Elections by hosting several Electoral Constituencies, each of which operates in a free and fair ranked-choice voting system.
While a majority of Altair's population is present on its home planet, Altair-3, there are regardless hundreds of millions of additional residents on various Altair-owned colonies throughout the "north-east" of Accord Space.
