The Abyssal Enclave is an interstellar hivemind civilisation located in the Mid Rim between the Imperium of Kings and Qandoan Free Colonies to the north and the Zerg Collective to the south. The Abyssal Enclave's Hivemind is unique due to its parasitic property as its central intelligence, the "Abyssal Motherorganism", is capable of infecting living hosts and assimilating them into the hivemind as new members. No species apart from Androids appears to be immune to this effect, as various species outside of the Enclave's territory such as Humans and Zerg have been easily assimilated. This parasitic trait and its proficiency with Bioweaponry have historically made the Abyssal Enclave infamous as a possible future threat to various civilisations, leading to animosity and even a brief conflict in the past.
Government
The Abyssal Enclave lacks any traditional government, as each of the Hivemind's vessels share a single mind, thus not necessitating a proper government structure to be created. The closest thing to a 'government building' is a palace-like structure that acts as the Motherorganism's residence.
History
The history of the various species that nowadays compose the Abyssal Enclave is largely shrouded in history, as in 287 a mysterious entity arrived upon the planet of Abyssa, which ended up being the Motherorganism. Shortly after its arrival, every living being on the planet was assimilated into its consciousness, marking the beginning of the Abyssal Enclave. In the period that followed this, the planets of Thessis, Aqorra, Kessa and Gheisa were also subjugated by the Enclave.
Following the establishment of contact between the Abyssal Enclave and the rest of the galaxy in 325, the Yatan-Theian Accord requested the Zerg Collective to keep an eye on the Abyssal Enclave following the SDS Foundation's discovery of an unusual substance named 'Abyssal Collection' on several human worlds which seemingly assimilated individuals into the Abyssal Enclave's hivemind. The CSIS would also get involved shortly afterwards in 327, sending cloaked vessels into Enclave territory to locate the origin of the Abyssal Connection, which they eventually discovered on Abyssa. Following a period of intel-gathering, the CSIS vessel launched a barage of nuclear weapons at the Motherorganism's palace and the Enclave's bioweapon foundries. Following this attack, the Enclave rapidly organized and launched several vessels to fight off the ship, only to fall back to defensive positions once a CSIS and Zerg invasion fleet arrived in the system. The space-battle was highly intense as Abyssal Starfighters and Zerg Leviathans engaged in combat. While the Abyssal Enclave put up a good fight, it was eventually forced to fall back into defensive positions, in which it broadcasted a simple message to the invaders, requesting an armistice. The Zerg and CSIS forces eventually agreed to their terms, and pulled out of Enclave Space. A few years following this defeat, the Abyssal Motherorganism underwent a traumatic event over its innability to comprehend its defeat despite its supposed perfection, leading it to split off several 'rebel personalities' as their own distinct organisms deep into space.
By 402 the Abyssal Motherorganism had entirely recovered from this traumatic event and adapted itself, allowing the Abyssal Enclave to restart its expansion by conquering the planets of Kaos, Thatosa, Primoda, Keibal, Tethia, Abal, Nulla, Nitora, and Kosuma.
