The Federal Republic of Osania ("Theian Confederation of Osania" until 251) usually known as Osania was a sovereign state located in northern Theia, being the largest country on the planet. It was one of the oldest nations on Theia, being founded by Old Osanian and Kalevian colonists only a year after the planet's initial settlement by humans. The nation had changed since its founding, abandoning its old confederation of 4 autonomous regions in 251 in turn for a federation of provinces. Osania was located in north-eastern Theia has a population of 23 Million, additionally Osania only bordered Sousania and Saimare, being surrounded by unclaimed land and oceans in every other direction. In 435 Osania became one of the founding states of the Theian Federation, dissolving its sovereignty in favour of membership within the Federation.
Osania was founded in 117, 1 year after Theia entered Alpha Sol's habitable zone as a collaboration between Kalevian and Old-Osanian (Filipino) colonists. Osania suffered initially by attacks by the re-emerging Q'Nar without aid from Yatan states who were preoccupied with internal matters, making Osania view Yatans as warmongers, intentionally attempting to sever ties between the two human planets for a long time until eventually mellowing out over the issue, shifting towards being moreso anti-colonialist than anti-yatanist. Osania was also the forerunner for trade and agricultural development on Theia, importing thousands of Yatan animals and releasing them into the wild on Theia alongside establishing official trade routes. Osania stayed in neutrality since then, with minor incidents such as the Volhi Conflict until it eventually discovered the Mystery Flesh Pit, which over time allowed Osania's economy to skyrocket with tourism money, this was helped even more by abandoning old institutions in the 251 Constitutional Reforms. Following this point Osania focused mainly on diplomacy and economic growth such as building up ties with Sousania and Alsavaeid, Selling the Volhi islands to Alsavaeid, and eventually joining up with several nations as one of the founders of the Theian Federation.
Government and Politics
Osania was a Federal Parliamentary Republic with a full democracy. Elections were held every 5 years via a representative system within each province. Osania was also Semi-Presidential, having both a figurehead president and a prime-minister.
Foreign Relations
Osania was a member of both the Pan-Theian Bloc and Theian Defense Pact, having close ties with the former Theian-Republic states and Polsk. Despite these international alliances, Osania's closest allies were Iujadogia and Gensokyo despite not being in a pact with Osania. This is mainly due to their scientific and economic cooperation ever since the early 200s. Osania's 2 closest economic allies are Alsavaeid and Sousania due to their economic ties in the Gulf Free Trade Agreement.
Osanian Armed Forces
Osania had a large volunteer army which is highly trained in defensive warfare in its home turf instead of international conflicts.
