Altair-3 is a large terrestrial planet located in Altair System situated in Grid O19, serving as the capital and most populous world of the Technate of Altair and the third most populous planet within the entire Yatan-Theian Accord (only being surpassed by Yata and Theia themselves). Topographically, Altair-3 is dominated by a massive worldwide ocean that covers nearly 90% of its surface with the sole exceptions being a number of tropical archipelagos scattered across its surface which are covered by a number of jungles and major metropolises with the largest being the planet's capital of Valta. As a habitable planet, Altair-3 over time developed its own intelligent life in the form of the Altairans, a semi-aquatic species of pink-skinned humanoids which managed to develop a worldwide technocratic society that eventually joined the Yatan-Theian Accord, still making up a vast majority of the planet's population. Much like the Altairans, nearly all terrestrial lifeforms on Altair-3 are at least partially amphiboid aside from certain herbivores in order to make use of the planet's vast population of aquatic fauna. Altair-3 is the third planet from its star 'Altair', and is orbited by one medium-sized spherical moon named 'Altair-3b' located close enough to often cause extreme tides during parts of the year.

The Planetary Technate of Altair-3 is the sole governing body that holds jurisdiction over the planet, organizing itself as a pure technocracy where those deemed technically or scientifically proficient being appointed into positions of power as either bureaucrats or if especially impressive into the 'Planetary Committee of Altair-3', the planet's legislative body responsible for upholding its legal system alongside electing the planet's 'Planetary Executive', the head of state of the government. Altair-3 is divided into a number of local 'districts' each run by their own Committees and Executives that additionally serve indefinite terms until removed by their Committees for irrational or non-beneficial actions in government.

Much like other Altairan worlds, Altair-3 is generally regarded to be much more authoritarian than most Human-inhabited worlds due to its lack of elections and fairly strict command economy, though its large population and massive importance in manufacturing and scientific research has negated most criticisms as sapient rights violations are generally unheard of. Despite its authoritarianism, Altair-3 regardless participates within the Yatan-Theian Accord's own electoral system, regularly electing new representatives to their seat in the Interplanetary Assembly and often the Sectoral Assembly as well thanks to being the most populous world within the Altair Sector as a whole.
