List of Retcons
A comprehensive list of each retcon that has happened. While some of these may be explained away with "Temporal Anomaly Theory", alot of these have no in-lore explanation, and are just changes that have been made.
List of Retcons
- Asophania was originally proposed to have originated from Skantos, but it has since been clarified that it is of shared Yetian, Tritonian, and Iujado origin.
- Denasola did NOT arise after Asophania was "wiped out of existence."
- It was inferred that Asophania and Denasola somehow overthrew each other a lot, or even shared the continent nearly equally, however Asophania is now considered extraterritorial within Denasola since 99 CE.
- Anything related to "Flamingia" is disregarded. It didnt happen
- Tritonia is NOT linked to Tritonien, Triton, or Tritonism.
- The SDS are not a secret organisation, but their operations are.
- The Iujado race are from Theia, not Titan, and did not originate from the Biomass.
- The Caspian Sea was never drained/floooded.
- The original Anahita origin story with the Iujado is no longer canon.
- Alana Csabay did NOT kill Aldren Tremar, unlike the original retcon.
- The ILCADOS computer was NOT a sentient being at first, it was a proof of concept for digital genetic sequencing.
- It was built in prehistory, not by modern humans.
- Isla is NOT merely the personification of ILCADOS - she is a person "rewired" by the AI. The computer still exists in JAKA.
- The Digiverse is the brain-child of Carbonado and Isla, not the SDS.
- Peterland was always Floria and never worshipped "Peter" as a god - it was a human resettlement scheme by the Nihilist Iujado.
- Theta now refers to a hypothetical "omni-elemental" god, not the second deity of Gensokyo and the dendritic realm.
- Theta is NOT the Mystery Flesh Pit - he is a manifestation of concentrated orgone energy conjured from the pit itself.
- Jimmy Navarro and Eldric de Laitinie are created as individuals halfway through the Insurgency Arc to personify California and Floria respectively.
- Asophania did NOT engineer the Great Sleep to "prepare" humanity for planetary evacuation scenarios (i.e. the Insurgency.)
- Andrei Varady and Cormac Connolly were uploaded to the Digiverse in the project's infancy to avoid the fact that they would have died of old age.
- Emerald is a separate character, not a fusion of Sapphire, Jade and Ruby.
- The "Technocratic" republics were so named because Peter thought that the term was synonymous with Scientocracy. It is not.
- Sub-Palladia was not discovered in the Fifth World War by retreating Quatritonian forces - the Gamers did.
- Lineland Server is no longer canon. This includes Ancient History of Yetia and Ancient History of Lineland
- Yomtachs were originally stated to have originated in Canada, but this was changed to make them be originally from the Amazon.
- The Civilisations on Pluto and Sedna initially were stated to have survived the Human-Trigal War, but this has been changed to them dying out in the cross fire.
- Polsk's origins were changed from genetically modified superhumans to standard humans using paranormal technology.
- A war between the CIS and Yorica in 358 was removed.
- All non-human-like theian native species except non/semi sentients + East Baiameans have been retconned to be more like more standard Theian Natives.
- Ceres was stated to have been captured by Theia and turned into a moon, but this was retconned. Ceres is still in asteroid belt.
- Astria was moved from unknown space to the northern tip of the Outer Rim.
- Nihilantis and Asophania have NOTHING to do with each other.
- The entity Nihilantis was split into two - the god, and the person controlling their mind.
- Nihilantis is NOT:
- a Half-Life expy.
- a sentient star (let alone a star at all)
- a manifestation of the nation of Asophania
- Andrei Varady or Sanmor. It's like the Holy Trinity.
- Creepy's initial rule over Luxuria during the Lost Archives did NOT result in the country only having a handful of people left in it, instead it was more of a process of ineffective leadership and extreme punishments leading toa gradual decline in population (To around half of what it was)
- "Binguses" and "Floppas" never existed. They were simply Sarpian Cats instead of their own species.
- Several of the more 'silly' or 'memey' religions that were never mentioned outside of wiki / the old discord religions channel are not canon, and have thus been moved to Joke Pages.
- A number of emblems and flags have been retconned.
- Lorandite disguised as Psychotria arrived at Eos in 462 CE - Sakura and Black Opal were aware of this deception but retconned to have forgot about it by the time they themselves arrive on Eos. While intentionally retconned, it serves a metafictionary purpose in Paralogia.
- The Insurgency book will soon be retconned entirely with the rewrite The Sunderous Oblivion, which will address the poorer writing quality, lore inconsistencies, and relatively shorter length.
- The same is expected of the next 3 books, when it comes to it.
- Samekh was not initially intended to be the twin brother of Amesidian when The World Machine was written - this is not necessarily a retcon as much as it is a reveal.
- The star system Iota Ophiuchi is described as being named such from the perspective of the Alpha Sol System (i.e it is the ninth brightest star in the constellation Ophiuchus). However, Empyreans also call it by this name, and the native name for the planet - Yoph Fiyakyi - is what "Iota Ophiuchi" appears to be derived from. The issue is that there was no way in which Empyreans could have derived the term "Iota Ophiuchi". As such, the derived name of the system, its star, and the planet itself is now simply "Iota".
