The Confederation of the Lower Rim is a confederacy of 5 spacefaring civilisations (referred to as 'Collectives') which consist of various 'Sectors' that contain numerous inhabited star-systems. The Lower Rim is administratively a military junta, as despite having a fairly independent legislature true power sits in the hands of the 'Lower Rim Taskforces Coalition', a council of admirals at the head of the 5 'Taskforce Fleets' responsible for protecting each of the member collectives. Astropolitically, the Lower Rim is a member of the Galactic Community.
