The Republic of Ireland, often simply known as Ireland, is a sovereign socialist republic located on the island of Ireland in the north-west of Europe with its capital in Dublin. Ireland has had a fairly troubled history with seeveral conflicts and occupations by foreign powers, though despite this they have always stood their ground and retaken their sovereignty.
