The (First) Blarg Republic was an interstellar civilisation located within the Alpha Quadrant of the Milky Way galaxy. The Blarg Republic was a representative democracy under the rule of President Garral Blanar and Prime-Minister Yurel Nargan. who preside over a democratically elected legislature that aims to implement 'benevolent' policies. The Blarg Republic is one of the stronger nations in its general area, being on par with the likes of The Covenant, Yelnik Hivemind, and Yatan-Theian Accord, with each of whom being the Republic's allies. In 481 CE, their government was overthrown by rogue nationalist elements angered by their years of stagnation, culminating in the rise of the 'Second Blarg Republic'.
The Blarg Republic was mainly populated by the Blargs, an artificially created species engineered by the Kings several million years ago from whom their ancestors escaped and migrated to Blarra Prime, where they would eventually establish a civilisation several thousand years before The Great Sleep.
