Most of the Orders space fleet for operations is made up of automated and/or remotely controlled drones designed for different tasks ranging from the size of a backpack to the size of large trucks. Order drones almost never operate alone with the smallest unit in their navy consisting of 5 drones. So called Drone Groups vary in composition when it comes to the types of drones in them, depending on the task that they are to assume.

The Order of the Metal Mind (abbreviation: OMM) is a human organisation based in the Alpha Sol System. Its founding dates back into approximately 1123 BGS as humanity was in its early medieval ages with it now currently focusing on intelligence gathering, data collection and the secret protection of Humanity.
History
WIP
Technology
The Order of the Metal Mind inherit most of their ideals and disciplines from the entity that is their benefactor and instating founder, known under the name The Metal Mind [Error fetching linked data: multiple cross-references found.]
.
As the order's interest has always been on maintaining a technological and informational superiority, they have over the years honed their accumulated skills in the fields of cyberwarfare, general applied information technology, electronics, computational logic and AI.
Furthermore they operate a large network of secret automated and semi-automated defence stations in basically every star system colonized by humanity, with the Alpha-Sol System being the most defended.
Communication
The Order mostly utilizes two main ways of communication between its facilities, stations, spacefaring vessels, personal on mission and otherwise autonomously operating units.
The first and primary method of communications consist of a technology which they have called "Black Links". It is a self-organising network in which participating devices can simply call and talk to any other other device if they have the correct keys. To reduce the amount of still possible overloads due to too many devices calling on the same recipient, the order mostly runs communications through additional servers which coordinate these operations even though it would not be required.
The second method of data exchange is a network of hijacked or backdoored but also self-operated servers connected to the Yatan-Theian internet, secretly relaying or hosting data for lower security OMM operations. This is mainly used in their operations in the Alpha Sol system to take pressure of their primary way of exchanging data, or if carrying around a Black Link device for operations is out of the question.
"BlackLink"
One of the most useful technologies at the disposal to the Order are so called "Black Links". They are provided by The Metal Mind on request of the Order and are small boxes with the size of 1 cubic decimetre. To connect electronical devices to such boxes, one simply has to insert a cable into the material of the box and connection is immediately established regardless of the connected device. Through such a connection it is possibel to send and receive information through the cube, as if being connected to a gigantic interconnected network of wires.
What is interesting about this method of communication is that regardless of the distance between two boxes, the time delay between them is always half a second.
To assure that this technology does not fall into the wrong hands and could be exploited, each received Black Link is further encased in a protective, blandly black shell equipped with basic computational circuits and ports as well as the protocols required for connecting to the order's network. Such an assembled device is then non-officially referred to as an "Encased Black Link". As a result of this policy, only few people know the true appearance of the devices that gives the Black Links their function, with most instead referring by "Black Links" simply to the whole apparatus of the visible shell with the hidden core.
When such a cube (encased or non-encased) is connected to devices that have not been properly inaugurated by special people of the order, it refuses to operate. Should a connection be forced upon it regardless, f.e. for the purposes of analysing it, they just completely shut down or even explode.
Space Fleet
The space fleet of the Order of the Metal Mind is highly built around stealth and cloaking to the point where ships without those capabilities are a rare exceptions in their navy. Consequently Order ships are typically on the smaller to medium end and result in their combat tactics revolving heavily on surgical strikes and electronic warfare.

Roles:
The individuals of the Order are organised into 6 distinct roles with their specific set of duties and sub-groups. Each of these roles has a colour associated with it to make individuals easier to identify. Use the Menu below to access further information regarding a particular classification.
Colour | Position | Tasks | Identity status |
---|---|---|---|
Red | Coordinator | These people are completely off-grid and are only allowed to remain within Order installations and property (ships, bases, etc.). This can include members that were exposed and did not change to a communicator role. Their main task is handling the day to day operations of the order, going from simple logistics to even strategic planning. | Secret, do not interact with the outside. |
Black | Militant | An individual which's entire service is to be as a soldier or protector. Similarly to Coordinators they also stay completely off-grid. This does however not mean that they do not interact with the outside if required, for example to secure IP assets or enforce martial actions. | Secret, rarely directly interact with the outside. |
Yellow | Asset | An agent or spy which's Identity is to be protected and stay a secret. Their job is to help the Order impose their influence on the world, gather information and see that the goals of the Order are protected and enforced. They do not have the authority to purposefully fatally harm other people as that would comprimise their mission. | Secret |
Green | Communicator | An individual tasked with acting as a midground between the Order and other organisations, governments and alike. As a secondary task, to ensure optimal communication with the chosen agency, they should protect the leaders or important figures of the organisation they are appointed to. | Leaked, known by some |
White | Overseer | An Individual that is tasked with maintaining the internal structure and values of the Order. They are usually stationed at facilities but do not act as their central coordinator but instead as a sort of independent internal police. Overseers are in their every way bound to the Nexus Council. | Secret |
Blue | Nexus | They are the Order. They are the Network. They are those that bridge the gap between the Order and their benefactor. | Secret |
Asset
Assets are the eyes, ears and sometimes even hands of the Order. Their line of work could most likely be described as the occupation as spies, with some even being "actual" ones. Their tasks are usually on the external spectrum. The main duties of assets lie in their mission to neutrally gather information about nations and other organisations. Usually for this task they are employed by a scapegoat organisation to not arouse suspicion to the Order but that is up to the exact mission of an asset.
Other than the gathering of intel, assets are also used to covertly enforce the influence of the Order on the world if necessary, to ensure that the Security, Secrecy and other directives of the Order are maintained.Coordinator
Coordinators are responsible for the management and coordination of all of the Orders operations. Consequently, this group has the highest degree of sub-specialisations as well as a large member count. Their tasks and duties fall in almost all cases under that of Order-internal work.Communicator
Communicators handle the Orders Coordination between its own facilities as well as acting as diplomat and envoys to other organisations the Order has deemed useful. Consequently the tasks of a Communicator can both be internal as well as external.Militant
Militants are dedicated combatants fulfilling duties as security personal, strike teams and spec-ops personal that the Order uses when the usage of Assets to impose their influence and will is not favourable. While such external operations, and the teams to enact them, are not many in numbers, the personal required to execute such actions is always kept at the highest of standards.
however the most common form of Militant can be found as simple security guards that directly underlie any stationed Overseers or otherwise central autoritative figures of the respective facility.Overseer
Overseers are an elite class of Order personal dedicated to the safeguarding of the internal structure and values of the Organisation.
They are almost always cybernetically enhanced to keep in communication with other Overseers and the NEXUS council. Furthermore these augmentations also serve to keep each Overseer monitored by the NEXUS council.Nexus

ComCollect | Virus/Worm | "ComCollect" is a sort of adaptive worm who's main goal is the collection and retransfer of raw data. Basically it will over time restructure the targeted network to plow through databases and bring information from the deeper layers to the top. It does this in a way in which it multi-encrypts already existing data so it can have different meanings, basically making its changes undetectable since whenever the normal operator accesses their information with their own decryption it will show the same as before. In order to cause even less suspicion this process can be configured for different time lengths and could, depending on configuration not have useable results for a few years. | 8 |
ColdAgent | Worm | A worm which spreads through the targeted systems, establishing a presence and serving as a possible anchor and installer for further malware. | 6 |
