IRIPHOS, short for the Iraltiville Research Institute of Particles, Hadrons and other Sciences is a research facility and science park located in Iraltiville, Arcoradia (a member-republic of the Plurinational Union of Theia). Founded as ASTER (Arcoradian and South Theian Energy Research), it was formerly the prime project of Aquilean scientists who were concurrently planning the ANTER project, now known as TERAPRO. For a majority of its history, IRIPHOS was privately owned facility (with most shares being owned by the facility itself, with the second-largest shareholder being the JADIRAD Institute) until 472 CE when it was 'nationalised' by the Yatan-Theian Federation and placed under the guidance of the Department of Scientific Research as a reuslt of a plea deal to avoid the consequences of its previous Pro-Commonwealth stances, though it regained most of its autonomy after the Second Concordance even if it remained nominally "Accord-sponsored".
