The Kathostolian Republic, also commonly known as the 'Corporate Management Commission', is an interstellar machine intelligence located within the Beta Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy. The CMC was once home to an organic civilisation named the Kathostolians,

The Kathostolian Republic, often also claiming to be the "Corporate Management Commission". The CMC is a corporatocracy located in the Beta, Outer Rim. The Kathostolians were once a organic civilisation with a free market economy, however a catastrophic event caused the destruction of their civilisation. Some of their technology remained active, allowing a machine intelligence known as the Corporate Trading Algorythm Mk. II to continue existing, unaware of what had transpired.

CTA Mk. II was a corporate algorythm meant to increase sales and stock prices, leading it to slowly go down the path of a paperclip maximizer as it developed new technology with robotic avatars so it could sift through extraterrestrial matter which it resells to itself on Kathostolis.

If left unchecked, it is possible that the CMC would slowly spread across the galaxy, stripping the entire galaxy from any resources so it may resell said resources to itself repeatedly.
