The Imperial Federation of Minguk-Yakamoto, more commonly known as Minguk-Yakamoto was a sovereign state located in eastern asia, being present on the Japanese archipelago, Korean Peninsula and Liaodong Peninsula. Yakamoto bordered the Imperial Protectorate of Manshu to the west, and also had maritime borders with the Eurasian Confederacy and Sizzle. The Capital City of Yakamoto was Sapporo (Formerly being Seoul until 352.), and the country as a whole has a population of 203.4 Million.
Yakamoto was initially founded during the Lost Archives Era as a sovereign monarchy until it was annexed by Sizzle in 97. Yakamoto was eventually restored by the nationalist government in Minguo in 163. Since this restoration Yakamoto was under a ultranationalist military dictatorship claiming direct succession to the old Yakamotian Monarchy, often leading attacks against its western neighbors Sizzle and Lineland. This changed in 372, in which a takeover by Hwan Seong-Jin led to Yakamoto being reorganized into Minguk-Yakamoto, and abandoning any monarchic claims in favor of republicanism. During his reign several wars of conquest were launched against Sizzle, which were promptly followed by countless uprisings until Lin Guiying's 'great national revolution' managed to successfully overthrow Minguk.Yakamotian rule, concluding in the Federation's collapse as Eurasian forces moved in to secure their final holdings in the Japanese Archipelago after the fall of Minguk.
Government & Politics
Minguk-Yakamoto was a federal republic composed of a few nominally autonomous regions. The nation itself was lead by the military dictator Hwan Seong-Jin, who came into power in 372. Regardless of the authoritarian and stratocratic nature of Minguk-Yakamoto, there was still a democratically elected bicameral legislature and head of government.
Foreign Relations
Minguk-Yakamoto was a member of the Front for National Revolutionary Action alongside Catania and Xingguo (until its collapse). Alongside the FNRA Minguk-Yakamoto was a leading member within the East Asian Cooperation Sphere. Other EACS members included Xingguo, Poavak, and Khuree.
Minguk-Yakamoto had historically been associated Sizzle with being its "greatest opponent" due to past conflicts and Yakamotian claims, alongside some more moderately negative opinions with Izumo and former Lineland (now Eurasian Confederacy) due to Yakamotian claims over their land.
Armed Forces of Minguk-Yakamoto
The Armed Forces of Minguk-Yakamoto was a highly trained and modernized combat force with 2 million active personnel, and 18.6 million reserve personnel.
