Tritonia is an umbrella term used to refer to a collection of nations, both contemporary and historical, traditionally inhabited by the Tritonian people. The nation is transcontinental, stretching from the upper-middle course of the Danube River in the west to Lake Baikal in the east. Additionally, there are three disconnected areas: two bordering the Sea of Okhotsk, and one on the shores of Lake Lena. There are numerous diasporas located in the vicinity of the core nation.

Tritonia is comprised of twelve, thirteen or fourteen sub-nations that stretch across multiple sovereign states, each of which house a distinct ethnic group that falls under the Tritonian umbrella. The nation is linguistically diverse, with Rumynskye and Russian being the predominant languages. There have been attempts to create a sovereign pan-Tritonian nation that encompasses each of the nations, and the closest state to achieve this was the Eurasian Confederacy until it went beyond its initial ideals.

Territory

Tritonia's core is formed between Tritonia and East Tritonia, with the remaining six nations forming the peripheral regions. Despite this, Rumynskye is widely considered to be the homeland of the Tritonian people.

History

Tritonian ethnogenesis is presumed to have occurred long before the Great Sleep. Prior to 0 CE, the Tritonian nation was centered around the sovereign state of Zantozacoria, whose territory adittionaly included significant portions of Karelia and the Kola Peninsula.

As a result of the Great Sleep, contemporary Tritonia was initially centered around the city of Palladia. Concurrently, modern scholars disregard the northern 90% of ancient Kalevala-Tritonia when defining the contemporary Tritonian nation.
