The Commonwealth of Independent Systems, often also known as simply the 'CIS', is an interplanetary federation of semi-autonomous republics established in 292 by the Federation of Polsk, Republic of Nova Polska, and their various extraplanetary settlements. The CIS is additionally one of the member-states of the Yatan-Theian Accord, of which it is the most powerful and influential member.
Government and Politics
The Commonwealth of Independent Systems' government consists of the the legislative, executive, and judicial branches, with each of them having their own tasks within the nation's day-to-day governance.
Legislative Branch
The primary function of the legislative branch is to create and pass new bills into law, which is done via the two main houses; the Commonwealth Assembly and the Lower Assembly. Each member states has 10 Senators to represent them in the Commonwealth Assembly, adding up to 170 seats. Each state gets 20 representatives in the Lower Assembly, adding up to 340 seats. The Lower Assembly is tasked with creating new bills and passing them onto the Commonwealth Assembly to be approved and passed to the President in the executive branch, whom has the power to pass the law or veto it back to the legislatures. The legislative branch is additionally responsible for war declarations, regulating interstate and federal commerce and finances, and controlling spending policies.
Executive Branch
The executive branch's central role is responsible for passing laws and enforcing them alongside managing day-to-day governance and diplomatic representation, which are handled by the President, the Vice president, and the cabinet of advisors. The Cabinet of advisors, which appointed by the President, is responsible for managing the various federal departments and agencies within the executive branch;

Judicial Branch
The judicial branch is responsible for interpreting the law and evaluating whether or not new laws are constitutional. There are several different levels of courts under the Judicial Branch, starting with the local District Circuit Courts, the Planetary Court of Appeals[2], The Appeals Courts, and at the top is the Supreme Court of the CIS.

The CIS consists of (num) Member Republics and Dominions with varying degrees of autonomy, with certain ones being nearly totally sovereign, alongside two federally-run military administrations.

Economy
The CIS has a massive economy of around 41 trillion credits thanks to its large size and resources, facilitating a large self-sufficient system of internal trade networks while also engaging in trade with with other nations and civilisations to acquire new resources or finished products.
Military
The CIS has a large military consisting of around 13,500,000 active personnel. CIS Doctrine revolves around mobility, power projection, and violence of action, aiming to be capable of getting boots on the ground in several different zones of interest on Yata and Theia within a few hours alongside being able to rapidly deploy to nearby alien nations within a day or two.
Armed Forces
The CIS Armed Forces are the primary ground forces of the CIS Military, consisting of around 4,250,000 personnel stationed in garrisons on CIS planets and nations from which they are transported to conflict zones by the Naval Forces, as the Army has very few ships of its own, only having dropships and gunships stationed on larger naval ships. The Army also maintains a fleet of Rotorcraft for planetside movement and transport that work in tandem with their set of advanced and capable small arms.

The CIS Air Forces are the primary institution responsible for planetside air operations, consisting of around 3,250,000 personnel stationed in various military bases located in CIS territory, sharing them with Army garrisons or Naval detachments. The Air Force also operates out of naval vessels, mostly using them to be deployed to different conflict zones

The CIS Naval Forces are the largest military branch of the CIS, conducting all engagements in space with their extensive fleet of spacecrafts. The Navy is maintained at around 5,000,000 personnel which are divided between the Navy's two primary sub branches, the Space Fleet, and the Maritime Fleet, together maintaining a fleet of around 1,000 Spacecrafts with the ability to deploy maritime ships on any planet within a reasonable distance.
