The League of Theia is an international organization on Theia much like Yata's "United Nations of Yata", acting as an international forum for all internationally recognised nations of Theia to meet and discuss common issues, maintain peace and dialogue, and represent the planet on the interplanetary stage.
In 435 many of the League's more influential members, after years of encouragement and facilitation by the League, agreed to unify into the "Theian Federation" which operates as a nation onto itself while also being heavily tied to the League, with many of its major institutions acting as both the League's and the Federation's joint ventures.
Governance Structure
Deliberation Council
The Deliberation Council is the thing that does decisions with fcountries in it
Department of Technology and Civil Rights
The Department of Technology and Civil Rights, formerly the 'Technology and Civil Rights Council', is a entity composed of technologists, ethicists, and sapient rights advocates from across Theia responsible for monitoring global Artificial Intelligence, Genetic Engineering, and Surveillance operations across the planet in order to ensure each nation is properly respecting sapient rights and individual freedoms. In 435 the TCR Council was integrated into the Theian Federation as the Department of TCR as the Federation's body responsible for these ethics, while also continuing its international monitoring operations.
Theian Parliament
The Theian Parliament is an internationally democratically elected legislature tied to the Deliberation Council with the authority to draft non-binding resolutions, policies, and proposals for the Deliberation Council to approve so that Theia's people can make their voices heard on the planetary stage. In 435 the Theian Parliament was integrated into the Theian Federation and promptly reorganized into a bicameral system for the Federation, although despite this many seats in the 'House of Citizens' are still reserved for internationally elected delegates to make their voices heard.
Theian Security Forces
The Theian Security Forces are the League of Theia's official peacekeeping force, consisting of heavily trained and armed soldiers from across Theia that utilise their training and cutting-edge technologies to keep the peace wherever necessary alongside lessening the LoT's reliance on national militaries and preventing nations from monopolizing global security. In 435 the TSF was partially integrated into the Theian Federation, becoming its armed forces while maintaining its peacekeeping duties across Theia.
Resolutions
Theian Governance Charter
The Theian Governance Charter is a binding resolution that was passed in 431 which grants the League of Theia the authority to directly enforce international law, human rights, and peacekeeping as a more powerful organization than its previous weaker mainly diplomatic position. The goal of this resolution was to empower the League to be more capable of maintaining world peace if necessary, additionally allowing it to more properly enforce its rulings.
Digital Sovereignty
Digital Sovereignty is a resolution that was passed in 432 which defines various regulations on internet governance, cybersecurity, and data privacy across Theia intended to better protect Theians from threats. The resolution additionally introduced a system allowing for easier methods of currency conversion (Which would later evolve into the Pan-Theian Base) and a worldwide digital identity system so that people could prove their identities safer.
