The Confederation of Narakamian Tribes, also simply known as the Narakamian Confederation, was a member-state of the Yatan-Theian Accord formed in 318 following the Treaty of Confederation between the Narakamian Tribes, the Human Colonies, and the Yatan-Theian Accord which handed over the decision of approving new human settlements and the primary governance of the planet over to a pan-Narakamian legislature independent from other powers. The Confederation lasted from 318 CE to 482 CE, being dissolved once it agreed to integrate into the Yatan-Theian Federation in return for retaining its autonomy.
The Narakamian Confederation was centred around its homeworld of Narakam, a volcanic planet notable for its vast subterranean habitable environments. Alongside Narakam, the Confederation also extended control over several other extraplanetary settlements.
Government and Politics
The Narakamian Confederation, as can be inferred by its name, was a Confederation. This Confederation was composed of various traditional Narakamian Clans or Tribes as well as the several Human Colonies such as Vannakaram and Creepylandian Narakam. Each of these polities has several seats within the Kharanda[1], which was based within the city of Nairakkah. Because of this system the Confederation generally lacked political parties or ideological divides, though a divide between the traditional interests of the Narakamian Clans and the Colonial & Urban regions more tech and research based interests did exist. These two interest groups came together to form a ideological synthesis, promoting the traditional tribal lifestyle of the Narakamians alongside promoting the advancement of technology within this more traditional way of life.
Foreign Relations
The Narakamian Confederation was one of the more stand-offish member-states of the Accord, vehemently opposing any foreign influence in their claimed territory. Despite this, they had in-depth economic ties with all member states, as well as civilisations beyond Accord Space as far out as the civilisations within the Galactic Core Regions. While it may have been reserved, it was still friendly with all Accord Members aside from its somewhat strained relations with the Bejrik Order at times due to ideological differences.
Narakamian Military
Narakam had a fairly small ground military force of 200 Thousand soldiers, as well as a spacefleet of 468 Ships. Despite their underground location, the Narakamians have historically been very efficient ship builders which allowed the Confederation to field long-lasting and powerful ships.
Economy
The Narakamian Confederation was very economically active, being one of the more capitalistic Accord members. The Human Colonies' and some of the Narakamian major cities main exports consisted of all kinds of technologies and research studies. This however was only a small fraction of Narakam's exports, as a vast majority of its exports were Natural Resources, Minerals, and Fuels. These exports were held under the control of a select few resource extraction conglomerates such as Narakh Mining Corp, all of whom held a tight grip over Narakam's economy and to some degree even its government.
Culture & Demographics
Narakamians are generally egocentric and conservative, and stick to themselves rather than interacting with other peoples. Despite this, they interact mostly peacefully with the 5.6 million Humans living within the Confederation in modern times. Despite their open acceptance of modern technology, roughly 75% of the Narakamians within the Confederation still live a tribal lifestyle, although still making use of modern technology in this lifestyle. Those who live in urban and populated areas tend to be more progressive and aligned more politically with the Human Colonists, although still hold conservative values. This urban demographic also makes up a majority of the Narakamian Spacefleet's personnel, due to the Tribal people's aversion towards off-worlders. Though the actual "ground" armed forces tend to be more equally distributed among both demographic groups.
The Human Population is generally very progressive, even more so than a majority of humans outside of Narakam. This has lead to most more recent migrants being part of various minorities, making the human population exceptionally diverse. A majority of them are also involved in various scientific fields due to Narakam being a point of interest in various scientist, exobiologist, exobotanist and volcanologist circles within the Alpha Sol system.
