The Crimson Tunnels is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of a series of red-coloured rooms and hallways notable for having an unusual fleshy texture to them in most sections of the sub-space. The Crimson Tunnels is considered to be one of the most dangerous sub-spaces within the Backrooms to venture through by most wanderers for various reasons such its large number of entities and a notable negative effect on sanity. Alongside these two threats the most notable hazard for wanderers within this Sub-Space is an unusual phenomena in which the walls of the sub-space (especially the ones with a 'fleshy' texture) appear to be somewhat conscious according to several studies, often intentionally or unintentionally latching onto wanderers that touch the walls in order to absorb them into the walls, which is a lethal process.
Demographics
Due to a unusually high population of entities, its negative effects on sanity, and the unusual properties involving its living walls the Crimson Tunnels has no permanent population, instead only having a population of 0-7 transitory visitors at any given time as of 444. Additionally, it is considered by many to be largely uninhabitable in the long-term which has lead to no settlements ever being set up here.
