The Pillars is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms that takes the form of a series of dark rooms filled with mentally hazardous pillars which is accessed via a elevator room with two accessible floors. While the elevator areas are indeed save to be within, if one exits them into the ensuing black rooms filled with pillars and assorted 'cult-like' structures you will begin being affected a unusual mental effect which influences its victims to begin 'worshipping' the pillars as bringers of freedom and enlightenment, with a large community of afflicted individuals posing a present threat to all those that venture into this sub-space.
Demographics
Thanks to its mental hazards that entrap many of those that end up here in the sub-space, the Pillars has a population of roughly 23-30 Permanent Inhabitants and Transitory Visitors at any given time as of 441. These permanent inhabitants all are members of the local pillar-worshipping cults, of which many visitors passing through the sub-space end up being victims of by either being convinced or forcibly made to endure the pillars' mental effects.
