The Interconnected Asylum is a Liminal Sub-Space within the Backrooms System that takes the form of an unusual warped mental asylum, looping in on itself in a repetitive for several iterations until eventually coming to an end, which in one end of the building shifts towards becoming an unusual maze of empty rooms until eventually fully concluding. The walls of the looped section of the sub-space is largely white with blue tiled floors and brown carpets, divided into 3 floors home to various 'bedrooms', kitchens, and staff rooms. The maze area is much simpler, consisting of white and blue coloured walls and wooden floors assembled in a labyrinth-like manner, eventually concluding in a much smaller hallway home only to a couple unreadable books. Unusually in some 1st floor 'bedrooms' a ladder down to some kind of small basement room can be found, though these areas are known to be incredibly unstable and prone to collapse or noclipping.
Demographics
Due to its lack of resources, difficulty of access, and lack of interest, the Interconnected Asylum lacks any permanent inhabitants as it only has a population of roughly 0-8 transitory visitors within it at any given time. There are no colonies or outposts in this sub-space either.
Entrances and Exits
Entrances
- Noclipping in various areas of The Forgotten, especially in bathrooms, will send you here.
Exits
- Noclipping throughout the sub-space will rarely send you to the Orphanage, though this is much more likely to succeed if one noclips in a basement room.
